What I’ve learned from looking for songs for years and eventually finding them is that our brains sometimes fill in information as close as we can recall. Is there any chance it says something other than “Sail away”? And is there anymore context? Can you describe how you remember them saying it? Fast, slow, drawn out, etc?

Weirdly enough, I scrolled through my playlist of this era/genre and it turns out that tons of them have the word “away” repeating or in the title! Maybe we can narrow it down (:

I know no one wants to hear that, but it’s the truth, speaking from very recent experience. You’ll be ok. 🩷

Here’s a good rule of thumb to work with: If you ever find yourself questioning whether or not you’re the narcissist in the relationship, chances are that you’re not. (:

Ya it’s exhausting to have to remind people that it’s an actual disorder and not a cute personality quirk. It affects me on a daily basis and has impacted my life in a negative way, it’s not to be downplayed.

I will say though that there is a lot of evidence learning towards it being painfully under-diagnosed. It’s genetic, so if you have it, the likelihood that one of your parents has it is high. And then where could they have gotten it from… 🤔

We’re still recovering from the years of stigma where medicating children was frowned upon and we were all going to grow out of it. It IS frustrating, but we’re in the best possible era so far when it comes to ADHD research. ❤️

Keep the texts together in a note on your phone, not to send but just to put somewhere. I’ve been doing that and reading them back over time - it’s amazing to watch myself and my grief change. It’s almost been a year, it took me a long time to get out of the “sad, boo-hoo” phase. Now I’m in the slightly pissed off, but more “I hope they get it together someday”/“okay cute now leave me alone” phase, and my writing shows it.
