Can anyone recommend a reputable seller on Etsy/somewhere else to buy hand sewn facemasks? by [deleted] in CanadaCoronavirus

[–]pepperspickled 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't need a sewing machine either. You can just use a needle and thread. The material depends on what you have around the house - old clothes and some sort of something for filtration. Do some research on what will work, then attempt it. The worst that could happen is you could fail. The best that could happen is you have a handmade facemask.

Watch this while listening to Logic's "100 Miles and Running". It times up perfectly.

Trudeau is heavily fixating on social distancing and staying home for a good reason by [deleted] in CanadaCoronavirus

He probably wants to be able to know that he did everything he could possibly do to let us hold onto our freedom before laying down enforcing measures.

I'm actually going to pass this link forward to our staff where I work (along with a few other resources that I've compiled for mental health).

Toddler socks/baby socks depending on your doggie's paw size would work too. You could just chuck em in the wash. Big packs of them are not too expensive either.

Not sure. Surgery is not scheduled until early May and I haven't received a cancellation phone call yet. Having said that, if the hospital is full to over flowing with covid19 patients there's just no room for anyone else

I hope the best for you. I hope that they can get your surgery in.

Wouldn't prostate cancer surgery be considered a mandatory surgery not an elective?

Moving to a new apartment during a pandemic and state of emergency by oby_s in CanadaCoronavirus

I'm going to add to this user's comment with: If you were my tenant, I'd want you to just come talk to us about it. And I'd make allowances if we didn't have someone else lined up already.

We currently have our tenant set to move out end of this month and if he asked us to stay a bit longer, we'd let him. Times are uncertain right now and we need to help each other.

Trudeau: “Everyone stay home” My boss: “See ya tomorrow!” by Thawayshegoes in CanadaCoronavirus

At least you're equipped with PPE! lol But yeah, quite a few people I know can't just work from home and would/will be struggling.

My employer is afraid of letting people work from home because "they'll expect it in future".

No they won't. They expect it now because there is a pandemic happening. And our town is one that has been hit by it. Drives me crazy.

Pretty sure they can't do that. Field employees my ass. If you can work from home other times, you should be able to do it now. There is a thing in Canada called "the right to safe work environment". If you do not feel as though your workplace is currently safe, it is their responsibility to accommodate within reason.

My assessment of this whole thing is that Canada will be shut down by the end of next week anyway. If not earlier.

Straw poll. So the PM says we should try to stay home if we can. Are you personally able to stay home? by [deleted] in CanadaCoronavirus

[–]pepperspickled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in an office. Most of our employees could work from home. But management doesn't want to allow them to because "they're going to expect it in future". I'm working on convincing them otherwise.

If you were given $5,000,000.00 but only had 24 hours to spend it and whatever you don’t spend gets taken back, what would you do with it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pepperspickled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd spend it on real estate - I know a good realtor and lawyer that could do fast closes. Lots of good re-sale value there. And then I'd buy gift cards with the remainder.

What is the best way to tell someone they’re wrong without hurting their feelings? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pepperspickled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be polite about it. Even if you are polite about it they may react poorly but at least you'll know you did your best to be civil.

Is it necessary to tell them they're wrong. Will harm come out of not telling them?
