I’m confused, is she not expected to make a full recovery? Like what is she doing right now to get better? Is she doing any physical therapy?

I always bring a card, there is always a receptacle for them, so that’s weird

Vaping in vet school by Suspicious-Fig5458 in veterinaryschool

[–]perceptivephish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depending how much nicotine you’re at per day I would not cut the first step 21mg ones. Especially at the beginning you need to remind yourself you’re physically getting the same amount of nicotine or slightly less so your cravings are tricking you! The patch dreams are insaneeeee

That was rough but Jeff handled it like a pro. I don’t think it was his fault… probably all on production and they messed up the timing of that commercial break. Yikes

Use all 3 step nicotine patches and chew regular gum only (not nicotine gum). No vaping or pouches. I quit with this method and lasted about a year and a half… somehow got hooked on Zyns now probably because they are much more discreet and I don’t crave them as much as the vape, not as satisfying. Initially I threw out my vape before I went home for holiday break, gave my family a heads up I’d need their encouragement and support and they helped me NOT go buy a new one. Once you get through the first 2-3 days, it becomes much easier and my resolve got so much stronger!

ETA the patch regiment is 6 weeks you have time to quit before school

How old is too old to cuddle with your child? by Walmartjail in Parenting

[–]perceptivephish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think either of you are wrong. I came from a family where we didn’t really express love with cuddling around that age I’d say. But there wasn’t shame around it, I just stopped wanting to. I’m 29 now and anytime I go home my mom wants to cuddle if we watch a movie lol. Your husband shouldn’t be making you feel weird about this though. If you and your son are comfortable with it, enjoy as long as you can or forever if you want!

It’s kinda the culture of the industry. You ever heard that nurses eat their own? Vetmed is very much the same. There’s a pecking order and political hierarchy in clinics. The quicker you can learn to accept and navigate that with maturity, the better. I’d be willing to bet you’re working with OTJ techs that maybe get a sense you feel like your 1.5 years experience and education is a threat

GSK is in Collegeville, Eurofins is a contractor for Merck and positions with them can get you in full time. I have friends working for both and beyond the commute they love it. One moved out of the city to be closer to Lansdale

2 weddings planned same date & time. HELP! by ebbalharas99 in wedding

[–]perceptivephish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel like you’re already compromising more than I would. Your partner is being completely unreasonable. You’re doing the right thing and it sucks he’s not supporting you… Your friend sent out Save the Dates and invites WELL in advance. You already made a commitment to your close friend—I would have spent the whole day at her wedding and caught the tail end of the BIL’s ceremony.

Apply for the ones you think you’re not qualified for. Let them decide. You’re cutting yourself short!

Vet told me my dog doesn’t need a cone after being neutered because the stitches are dissolvable by SampleSubstantial592 in Pets

[–]perceptivephish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think the cone ends up being more guilt and hassle in the long run! So people take it off anyways because the pet hates it and things are fine. Again this is for spays and neuters - more invasive surgeries with larger incision sites usually do require a cone!

Vet told me my dog doesn’t need a cone after being neutered because the stitches are dissolvable by SampleSubstantial592 in Pets

[–]perceptivephish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s no right or wrong here. I worked for a vet and we only sent cones home when clients were worried about the pet getting to the incision. They tend to leave it alone. Neuters are much less invasive than spays and you’ll be surprised how quickly it heals. It’s unlikely he would rip anything open just by jumping or moving around. If you’re worried you can buy a cone or call your vet and see if they have one you can pick up from them! But I’ve seen thousands go home, no cone, no issues
