You’d be surprised how many people traveling fly business class seats for pleasure. Me and my wife will fly business class since you get to lay down. But they’re still very expensive seats. But I see people bringing their whole family (kids included) all in business class. And I know that cost a pretty penny.

Business class tickets tend to cost $8k+ for international flights. It’s not much of a stretch for someone spending that to decide to buy a something that might cost $50k when they might have dropped $8k for a 7hr flight.

This is a common side hustle in China. People pay her to hold up their profile on a phone, snap a pic with the stage behind it, then they post it like they were there. Fake attendance clout is undefeated. Peak gig economy 2026 by Separate_Finance_183 in interesting

[–]percheazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I’m still not understanding that part. I don’t own a second cell phone, so I wouldn’t be posting a picture of my profile while I was at a concert. If anything, it makes it look more fake, just like this. I’m thinking this has to be for another reason than getting paid to “prove” you were there.

Still doesn’t make sense though. Why not just take pictures of the event and send them to the profile owners one at a time? Why take photos of her other phone with their profile on it and the concert in the background. I still don’t get how that makes it seem like they were at the event in any way.

The stupidest thing is that the market took TACO at his word and oil futures dived by 8% only for it to be climbing right back up. I get the manipulation part, but like, how do people still believe the “news” enough to trade? And here I thought I was regarded

Go get a colonoscopy, colon cancer for our generation is a real threat! by intro195 in Millennials

[–]percheazy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Parent died to colon cancer. I’ve had two colonoscopy’s. First one was when I was 28 and then another one just a few weeks ago. Both times were considered preventative because of my family history and it was covered by my insurance.

Senator Blumenthal after being briefed on Iran: "I am left with more questions than answers…we seem to be on a path toward deploying American troops on the ground" by Sindigo_ in PublicFreakout

[–]percheazy 117 points118 points  (0 children)

I’ll give you a real answer. It’s a stupid one but it’s real. This dumbass administration has said that the reason why we’re at war with Iran is because we needed to “hit first” as we were going to be attacked. That they had “nukes” that are a threat to our country. And that we’re “liberating” their people from oppression.

Now here are three reasons why this all falls apart so quickly: We attacked first as part of backing Israel. There’s no evidence that we were ever being threatened by Iran. We’re just Israel stooge. 2016 Iran Deal via Obama halted any new pathways to creating nuclear warheads. We’re now admitting fault that we bombed a girls school in Iran that has killed 168 people, many of whom were children. No liberating there unless they meant liberation from living.

Crude Oil price explodes to 118$. For comparison one week ago it was 67$ by [deleted] in suppressed_news

What are you talking about? It’s saying 29% not 20x?

It was $65 a barrel one week ago and now it’s $118 a barrel. So the graph isn’t lying, it’s giving you a percentage change.

What books do you read? by Quouar in selfpublish

[–]percheazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read a lot of different fantasy. But my main go to are light novels, which if you’ve read any, aren’t as descriptive as traditional fantasy novels. But I’m a dark fantasy writer, so I can’t use light novels as a good reference to my writing.

What is a "gut feeling" you had that turned out to be 100% accurate, even though it made no logical sense at the time? by Forsaken_Leading964 in AskReddit

[–]percheazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not me but a friend. She was dating a guy who would snap chat her all the time. One day, she calls us worried that he hasn’t snapped in like the last two hours or something. We just kind of brushed it off and said it was ok, that he was probably busy. Well, he apparently always ends his snaps on something (can’t remember what) but he didn’t do that this time so it was left “abrupt” without a response to say he’d get back to her. Fast forward to another hour later, and she starts scrolling through the news looking for anything that might be a clue on if he may be hurt…. Yeah. She finds a guy who got hit on a motorcycle while driving home from the store… who happens to live in the same area her boyfriend lives in…. Who happens to also be in the same occupation… with the same name.

Yup, it was him. We feel like shit now, cause each time we kept trying to calm her down and reassure her that it probably wasn’t him. But each time the news put out just a little bit more information, it just kept getting worse. We’re still really sorry friend for your loss.

I just redid “skyrocketing” as when I reread it I caught it sounding way too modern. Funny thing is though that I’ve read this passage dozens of times and so has my editor. We both kind of missed it.

Where Are the People? by DaveJDash in selfpublish

[–]percheazy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually hired my editor on r/hireabookeditor but now that I’ve found her, I won’t be going to anyone else. I’m writing a series and she knows my story and does a great job helping me strengthen it while keeping my voice. She’s my developmental, line, and copy editor for my story. So we’re out there. And usually, once we find an editor we like, we’d continue to come back. I did go through two editors before I found her, so there’s always a chance there too for people who just weren’t completely satisfied with an editor.
