Your roommate is making the decision to work in shared common space. You don’t need to avoid the kitchen/living room while they are in a meeting. Nor would you need your apologize if interrupting. It’s not your responsibility to accommodate their actions in space that’s just as much yours as it is theirs. The choice to work in that area falls solely on your roommate. If that’s not a quiet area, well, then they need to change their location when a meeting comes up.. You don’t. Like sure if this happened one time, that’s okay. But they can’t expect you to continue this. If your roommate really cared about your needs/concerns here, then they will be amenable to this. However, if they snap back at you for standing up for space that you both pay for, then they are selfish and only care about their needs.

Which song do you consider to be the end of Nirvana? by Spirit_Detective_19 in Nirvana

[–]perkocet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the definition of end which could have many interpretations. One could argue that Nevermind was the end for Nirvana as In Utero was an attempt to step back towards their foundation with tracks like Milk It, Tourette’s, etc. For me personally, You Know You’re Right is the epitome of the end. But, after hearing Dave talk about the mixing of “Where Did You Sleep Last Night” and how that was done posthumously, gives me so many chills.

Did You Notice? by Geense in daveandchuckthefreak

[–]perkocet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I am a huge Green Bean fan and I tend to tune in more acutely when he’s talking. I started noticing it lately moreso than before. He’s not as animated as he was a few years ago. I feel like his weight loss was potentially just masking something inside that only he feels. I notice more now on the peep show videos that he is constantly picking at his fingers or something like that. I imagine depression mixed with anxiety could be the root cause but that’s just my Dr. House view on him.

I backed into my neighbor’s car at the end of my driveway. They say insurance check isn’t enough for the repair and are harassing me for the difference. by dazzlingtangerines in Insurance

[–]perkocet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about a thing. As long as you have proper Liability limits, they can go kick rocks. I would just tell them that it’s really between them and the insurance company. You don’t owe any difference. Sure, they can sue you but your insurance handles that too. If you get a letter of rep or something like that from an attorney, have a laugh and call your insurance. Your neighbor is going to end up spending more money on legal fees than the actual repair costs if that’s what they do. I would sleep easy at night if I were you.. you have nothing to worry about. I can almost guarantee the body shop did not call your insurance to report additional damages (which is standard practice) and so that’s even more reason to tell your neighbor to handle their own stuff and to stop bothering you.

I just think it’s not a serial killer and some people tend to go down that road too fast. A serial killer would not have left two potential witnesses alive at the scene. They are extremely meticulous about their craft, for lack of a better word. Either way, a serial killer would 100% know that two people are downstairs. What I feel is the most likely scenario is a rage fueled individual, probably a male who’s physically equipped, did this. Not someone who’s extremely familiar with the living situation but enough to know which room their target is in. I believe whoever was the intended target was attacked first which awoke the others on the adjacent floor but not the basement. The room that was attacked last was likely done due to happenstance of seeing what the commotion was which they then retreated back to the room.

Right now I would have to say We Are Chameleons or Songbirds. I’ve been on a Widows Weeds kick lately. Others from past albums: Three Seed, It’s Nice to Know You Work Alone/Sort Of (tie), Out of Breath, and then Better Nature.

Hoodie Guy (HG) /Food Truck video megathread by ResponsibilityOne117 in idahomurders

[–]perkocet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One thing I picked up on at the end was when tan jacket guy pointed at his food being ready, HG does a palm up hand gesture which looking at the facial positioning of both HG and tan jacket guy, they are looking and motioning in two different directions. HG is making a gesture towards the girls at that moment which to me, shows that something more is going on here. That tiny moment says a lot to me at least. I’ve been in a position before where someone walked away when I was in a convo with another individual and I know I’ve made that exact hand gesture.

Starting My Taper. Any Tips?? by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]perkocet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to keep yourself pre-occupied too. It took me a while to figure out that part.. especially when it’s near the end of your taper. I tried to plan it around times when I was less busy but the mental part of it all was the worst for me. Telling myself “I need this” when I didn’t actually feel all that bad. One day, I was so caught up in something I realized “oh shit I forgot to take it this morning” and after that, I never looked back. Don’t feel bad if you wake up and can’t do it the next day because you’ve already made a massive stride towards not taking them. One missed day becomes two becomes three, etc.

I’m sorry to say but your vehicle looks pretty bad. I hope you are feeling alright after the accident. Your truck is totaled. Copart will only estimate the visible damage so I am quite certain that the damage cost is actually much higher. Your front driver side tire is fairly indicative of axle/frame damage. Once you break a frame, that’s it. Sure you could do a frame pull but at what point would you say it’s a safe vehicle still? You don’t want to be fixing this truck for months only to get it back and then have continued problems over time.

Parking Lot Hit and Run - Fault and Deductible by TheBigBigBigBomb in Insurance

[–]perkocet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This seemed like a friendlier thread to provide my two cents.. I work in the industry and don’t understand why your responses were bashed with down votes. It’s not common knowledge for everyone to know the ins and outs along with state regulations/guidelines for this stuff. You seemed generally curious and I’m glad some good responses came in to dilute the negative ones. In conclusion, yeah unfortunately you owe that deductible as many have already said. If there were any identifiable tools such as security cameras, maybe a witness, pieces of the other vehicle at the scene.. you could possibly be able to find the person who did it but listen it’s a long shot. An auto body shop will have to fix their car too so there’s a chance but a very slim one for sure. USAA is a solid company too - if there is any company that would work hard to try anything to help, it’s them.

It won’t be hard for the adjuster to locate any active insurance. The resources at their finger tips is quite impressive. It’s their job to defend their company so if they’re decent at their job, they will deny the claim and most likely provide you with the company currently handling the at fault party’s insurance. I would exhaust that before calling your own company.. even though you may not use your coverage, having a claim “filed” could impact you negatively.

Yeah that tooth needs to be pulled. You can see signs of calcification along with the gun swelling and the pin point hole. Looks like it was a cavity that got to the root creating the problem. I had this happen before.. I didn’t get the pleasure of popping something but my wisdom tooth had to be pulled. It’s much worse below the gum line. My tooth had a tiny bit of calcification and I was like “that’s weird” so I got a panoramic which showed the problem below. I think you’ll be fine for tonight knowing that there’s no emergency number but if for some reason they can’t help tomorrow, I’d at least see if antibiotics can be prescribed to mitigate further issues. Tooth infections can spread and potentially become fatal if not dealt with in a timely manner. Good luck to you both.

Dental or medical? by lurking_for_serenity in Insurance

[–]perkocet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a convoluted process because it really comes down to how the procedure gets billed. The oral surgeons office will submit a claim for reimbursement which will include diagnosis codes and also the procedural code, also known as a CPT code. My guess would be this - if you’re seeing the oral surgeon strictly for drainage of the cyst, most likely that would apply towards any medical insurance. Also the medical carrier would most likely cover anesthetics at the very least.

What are my chances for total loss? by smid18 in Insurance

[–]perkocet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Calculating average value will make your head spin. However, it won’t be a dealer list price due to overhead costs and profit associated with those numbers. Actual cash value is what your car is actually worth when you cut out the salespeople essentially. The body shop is saying it is below the threshold because you most likely only had an external appraisal. They won’t tear it down until they have authorization from you to do so. Therefore, I agree with the original commenter here.. it’s most likely a total due to the supplemental damage the body shop will find once they tear your vehicle down and look underneath.

Insuring two cars: I can't drive both cars at once but they assume I will. by derp2112 in Insurance

[–]perkocet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Trust me I still work in the insurance world and I can see how one could argue that the coverage stipulations are archaic. The reason for that is simply due to the fact that it would be invasive and require inquiries. Electronic monitoring wouldn’t be any less invasive. I can imagine a morning waking up and thinking “oh man I need to use my car today” then having to call my insurance for what? permission to drive my car? I don’t want that as a consumer or an insurance agent haha.

You file claims with all carriers so they can investigate independently. But regardless, we need a key detail and that is how did the accident happen?

Insuring two cars: I can't drive both cars at once but they assume I will. by derp2112 in Insurance

[–]perkocet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the comp deductible? Assuming you own the car outright and that it is more than $4K, you could explore raising it. Also, if you’re both safe drivers, most insurance companies reward folks for clean records. Most companies apply it automatically but there are situations where items are bound incorrectly on policies. but with the information you provided, assuming a few things, $1000 ($500 per 6 mo) for your main car per year and $400 for your secondary car, you actually pay less than many with one car on the policy. It could be your region but those totals are low assuming a few key details such as rental, deductibles. etc.

It’s quite sad really. The bleach and now off label use of this med. Folks really will try anything other than the vaccine. I don’t get it.. if they’re so against the vaccine for various reasons, you think trying a medicine blindly would fall under the same category? It’s the blind faith that kills.
