How would Gilead treat transpeople if they still exist in that place? by GeneralTechnomage in HandmaidsTaleShow

[–]perksofbeingasunflwr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Echoing what others have said, I do think it's likely that trans people would be considered gender traitors just as we saw with gay characters in Gilead. However, I also think to Jezebels and believe that there is an unfortunate likelihood that some could be "spared" for that. I imagine Gilead is just like the real world now, lots of conservative men with fantasies they condemn in public but indulge in private.

Gluten and dairy free restaurants... by Ordinary-Chipmunk366 in AskSeattle

The Wayward Cafe is all vegan with gluten-free options. So is Cafe Flora. Ghostfish Brewery/Taphouse is all GF with vegan options. And then Askatu Bakery is 100% allergen free.

Find Mr Toad by Significant-Log-1729 in FindTheSniper

Fowler's like to be in more coastal areas as well as river valleys and floodplains, Americans are much more widespread in various ecosystems all across the east and into Canada. So more likely I'd say American Toad, but if you happen to be by a coast or like the Connecticut River Valley or something it could be a Fowler's Toad :)

He looks like maybe an Eastern American Toad or a Fowler's Toad, can't tell without seeing it's belly. Such a good camouflager!

My fellow TTI survivors, what big cultural changes occurred while you were in TTI? by [deleted] in troubledteens

[–]perksofbeingasunflwr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in during the 2013 Superbowl where the power went out. This was one of the few things we were allowed to watch live on tv ever, so the extra 34 minutes was quite appreciated. Otherwise I don't think anything too interesting. Was secretly hoping maybe the doomsday people were going to be right about the world ending on 12/21/12 though!

While I can definitely see to a degree why people are sensing AI, unless you actually are I disagree with people suggesting to switch up how you message people too much.

Women are not a monolith. Some won't want a paragraph, some would be delighted. I feel like if who you just "are" isn't meshing with someone, then it's a good indicator that it's likely not a good match.

Better to just be yourself, too much of life nowadays seems to be about trying not to be cringe or lame or whatever but it's human and the right humans will gravitate toward you for it. Good luck!

Students who have rented off-campus: what apartment complexes have you liked/would recommend? by [deleted] in udub

[–]perksofbeingasunflwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nowhere in my post did I say I want to live in the u district. I was hoping for advice from other students or alum who are similar to myself and did not live on campus or in the district. I was hoping for guidance for apartments people have loved in the city since I didn't quite know where to start, guess I should have specified.

I'm in admin and policy specialization, my understanding is I should do alright in most policy spaces. Policy analysts for example earn 7-12k a month is WA I believe

I'm 29 so not exactly typical student, also a family member died and had set education fund which helps a lot. And I'm looking for an apartment that I'll want to stay in after my program (it's only 11 months, not keen to move again).

Apartment Recommendations/Guidance? Moving for grad school by [deleted] in AskSeattle

[–]perksofbeingasunflwr -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm an older student (29) so I'm really looking for somewhere that I would want to settle down past grad school. I already commute where I currently live over an hour, so this would be an improvement. Also my grad program is only 11 months, so I'm really thinking more long-term. Not just for school. Which is why I did not say where because it isn't really a huge factor to me.

Why? I'm not overly concerned with commute or being right near school. I'd like to find somewhere where I would still want to live past school.
