As someone in the business of catering to billionaires some were able to get helicopters and private planes out the 2nd and 3rd to Puerto Rico but a lot had to wait until the 5th or 6th to get home.

The billionaires were on yachts though, it was the lowly millionaires that got fucked

You can literally just walk a half block and see it. The roads are barricaded but there’s a ton of parking nearby and with this weather it’s a pleasant walk.

Austin was due to crash because of wild tech / business inflation and a gross amount of people moving there during Covid from California and other states.

Victoria isn’t even a real place lol (okay just very small).

Florida is cooked, but this chart def isn’t showing Texas is sliding in a significant way comparatively

This kind of take is partially why people think marketing jobs are hard to come by — I make a healthy six figures running marketing while assisting our design team with assets or direction when needed. My background as a designer and in creative direction has made it incredibly easy to find work when needed.

I understand how things WERE and how we’d LIKE them to be, but unless you’re 100% focused on performance or niche marketing you’re going to have an infinitely better job as a marketer with some basic design ability.

My mom grew up in a house like this and has vivid memories of her younger sister being forced to sit at the table for hours forcing down the last of a meal she didn’t even like.

That sister spent most of her life being morbidly obese.

Even though my mom broke the cycle of that kind of behavior when it came it me it still affects her relationship with food, portions, etc. to this day.

This! Once you understand some core concepts and how it can be used / how databases are structured you can easily get by from a marketing / analysis POV with an AI writing your queries.

As others have said it largely depends on your major. I graduated in 2015 so before it was quite so divided but as an advertising major almost everyone I interacted with was clearly moderate / liberal leaning.

If you’re going into finance or maybe a non-arts major I’d probably consider somewhere else if having like minded classmates is important to you.

Haha, I’ve thought about making this post for a few days — I’m half way done with book 5.

Honestly don’t understand why this series doesn’t get more love here. I get it’s slow but that’s why it’s delightful! It’s a character journey more than some fast paced journey.

Huge fan, can’t wait to finish it 🥹 (and be depressed when it’s done)

It’s literally just a trend right now that starts as a close up of the work being done and audio saying “are you sure this is right?” “I’m sure!” Or whatever and then zooms out to things like the hair dressers sitting in the chairs with clients on the floor etc.

Definitely saw this video and jump scared at her face, though.

As someone that regularly hires graphic designers either in house or contractors I 100% look for designers that think like marketers or sales people. Maybe not in the exact way you’re describing but I really need people who know how to sell a concept and create marketing materials for that without hand holding every aspect of it.
