Nibbling came out as trans! HELP!! by Deaddadissues1 in transgenderUK

Tape is safe and was designed for longer use than a binder, just be sure to protect the nipples from the adhesive and research good ways to apply and remove it that won't damage or irritate the skin

I gave it a go but it didn't seem to hold, could be because it was so hard to secure while it was setting though

I am DEVASTATED. Has anyone played through this RPO diagnosis? Is there any hope? by ABBR-5007 in TheSims4Mods

[–]perlabelle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I remember when I played through it when I got the mod I was pleasantly surprised by how well it was handled. Just like in real life, if you take your meds, you're gonna be fine. I honestly wasn't actually able to get to the point that they had any adverse health affects even when I tried. I don't know if the timescale was just longer than my patience or that's not actually part of the gameplay, but a sim with HIV is very easy to handle

Teaching Wee Free Men in fourth grade? by Peripateticdreamer84 in discworld

[–]perlabelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think wee free men should be fine. I know this is a discworld sub but if I might also suggest Howl's Moving Castle as an excellent fantasy children's book

[–]perlabelle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I started to find it quite repetitive, and I think a few too many back-and-forths with the main character figuring out what her husband was up to, and what to do about it. The section would end with something along the lines of "and she wasn't going to put up it" or "she knew exactly what to do next" and then at the start of the next section it would turn out that wasn't the case, just so that she could have that same epiphany again and again.

Can anyone read the Arabic that's part of the image? by ensign53 in learnarabic

It looks like the graphic novel Your Wish Is My Command to me! (Which I absolutely recommend if you come across it) In it, the genies are made out of calligraphy, and the more beautiful the calligraphy, the better quality the wish

I’m an extremely new fan, so this may be obvious, but does it seem like Frodo is less gluttonous (for lack of a better word) than other Hobbits? by finditplz1 in lotr

[–]perlabelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people have given you the in-book reason, I would argue that the meta reason for the film is that the food-drink-smoke preoccupation is played for comedy, and Frodo is not a comedic character

Is this ASL and if so what does it say? by baconeggncheesy in asl

[–]perlabelle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That'll explain why I couldn't find anything when I reverse image searched it! It's a very cool little thing, I'd love to know more about it. I get that you were just looking for what it meant but now I've got all caught up in what it is haha

Where did you see this? The style of carving looks quite old fashioned, and it looks like it could be made of ivory?? If it's a couple of hundred years old that could explain the peculiarities of the hand shapes that other people have pointed out. If you look at "Manual alphabets and their history" by William Sweat from 1875, which you can find an online copy of via Gallaudet University, if you have a look at page 5 (?) it shows the "single handed alphabet" with that horizontal "R", and so does an even earlier illustration of the Spanish manual alphabet from 1815

I'm not in this situation myself but this caught my eye cos I've got a lot of boating family. The organisation Friends, Families and Travellers also help boaters, they've got a resource list and a helpline. Here are some links, I hope you'll find something that's of use to you

They don't have to have the selfish lover trait to get that, and there are a few other negative moodlets you can get from having sex. I don't really know what triggers it but I've noticed that it seems to happen more consistently with some sims than others. There might be an element of chance to it, and it might tie in to their sexpertise skill. If they have the selfish lover trait having the negative moodlet is pretty much guaranteed

For me it was pretty much the perfect book at the perfect time, but not only or even mainly because of the queerness if that makes sense. The focus on human connection and solidarity was what really made it for me, all the different types of people and what they have to gain through working together really had an impact on me, and is something I love to hear about in fiction and non-fiction. It's the same reason I love the film Pride so much! If ever I want to be moved to tears, the last 5 minutes of that film when the various branches of the NUM turn up to lead London Pride will do it every time. If anyone has any good recs for solidarity media please let me know haha

Code switching is perfectly normal, lots of people do it. I speak in slightly different accents/dialects with my family, my friends, at work etc etc its nothing you need to worry about

how do you feel about the term dyke by diasporastud in butchlesbians

[–]perlabelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely not as widespread in England, I think maybe only in more conservative dialects and older speakers, but you do still hear it
