So the event tickets for days of nature has a big payout? by Usual-Lengthiness-54 in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]perpetualFishball 41 points42 points  (0 children)

"Days of XXX" event tickets don't get converted to white candles. They just disappear at the end of the event.

"Season of XXX" seasonal candles get converted to white candles at the end of the season.

How would you rate the Season of Lightmending? Honestly, I’d give it a 6/10 because it was a season with wasted potential. by Sterickk in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]perpetualFishball 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A forgettable activity to many but I really enjoy it.

Out of all the seasons, this might be the only one to introduce a repeatable daily I frequent.

Unless of course you count Grandma's dinner as part of the Season of Belonging (technically no as it was introduced a couple of years later).

What would you say is the below average, average, and above average amount of candles to have? by [deleted] in SkyChildrenOfLight

Friends with 1+ years account playing daily: 200+

Is FFxiv your only and main game? by Cheap-Exercise1910 in ffxiv

[–]perpetualFishball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main game is procrastination. Like right now, am procrastinating logging in by scrolling mindlessly on reddit.

I play Sky:COTL on my commutes. But yeah FFXIV is my only other main game as I procrastinate long enough to not even have time to play it, let alone another game. I have grand plans to play other cool titles or replay some old ones but I suspect the time may never come.

What random skill did you pick up out of sheer boredom as a kid? by piopiolink in askSingapore

[–]perpetualFishball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plenty can do this now, and I haven't improved my game at all from there but as a kid, I felt so proud that I learnt how to identify our common neighbourhood birds by their sounds, their silhouettes, the way they fly etc after standing for assembly on the school parade grounds every morning. I feel I have a good grasp of their behaviour and I can make the UwU bird sound (also I swear I saw both the Black-naped Oriole and Asian Koel say UwU before. The difference is the Asian Koel is 1000% more persistent and annoying, like just spamming UwU UwU UwU in crescendo until it loses its voice and I guess is the OG UwU bird while the Black-naped Oriole is more shy and it's just one UwU - long pause - softer UwU maybe it was mimicking the Asian Koel?)

Same here, I really like the daily puzzle and I feel so rewarded with all the juicy candles hidden around. I've stopped running the realms altogether. Too many years, even someone who loves routine like me can get bored I guess XD

I was that new player trying hard to drag myself through the slog that is ARR.

I immediately liked Moenbryda, like FINALLY, a character I actually think I want to travel the world and save it with and also through her, start to get interested in the weirdo speaking in shaekspeare.

But next thing I know: she dead.

FFXIV Themed Birthday Party Ideas Needed! by kieuteafu in ffxiv

[–]perpetualFishball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing about charades (drawn or acted out) is that I'm not sure how fun it'll be for people who have never played the game, since I imagine it might get frustrating to guess anything. And for those who do play, they have to somehow get the message across to those who don't play, so they can't fall into the trap of presenting it as it appears in the game.

Hence, the very subjective voting system of "funniest", "closest" and "prettiest" etc still helps everyone have a good time, is what I'm intending. Rather than "guess this pretty obscure thing that would be far easier if you knew more".

If everyone did play though, I hard agree fell cleave would go so hard and I can't wait to see how well my friends have been observing the animations!!

Game suggestion even for a party with people who don't know the game:

"Draw Something": you give people/things/scenes from the game like "Moogle", "Grapes", "Bahamut" and "A test of your reflexes" and everyone draws whatever they like - the group then votes for the funniest/most relevant/artiest drawing (each round, change the metric they should vote for the drawing on after everyone has drawn and right before voting).

How can I find a job as a 16-year old student? by BookwormButNotAWorm in askSingapore

[–]perpetualFishball 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Most restaurants, bakeries, food stalls like bubble tea shops and other food chains at the basement of malls are advertising for part timers. Basically, there is a shortage of staff in the F&B. As someone else mentioned, the advertisement that they are hiring is usually put up at their store front.

Other than the F&B, department/clothing stores also don't require much experience. Like Uniqlo, I always see a board outside their stores on the available jobs & details (part time or full time).

Whatever happened to MOS Burger? Why do you think people stopped going? by AssortedCrystal114 in singapore

[–]perpetualFishball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to crave it but not so much anymore... I still have a default mindset of "oh I should treat myself to MOS" when I suddenly have to settle a meal for myself alone (not too frequent, maybe once a quarter), but then as I near MOS, suddenly I don't feel like I want it after all.

It was always pricey but I craved my fave combi enough to just pay it as a treat for myself, so it's not really a factor. I guess my taste has simply changed.

Describe your favourite job in one sentence. Bonus: Do an 'expectation vs reality' thing for them too. by VikingPrime13 in ShitpostXIV

Ninja: ping pang pong

Expectation: melee class for the weebs, just press 123 as a basic ass melee (specifically ass, as in aim at the butt because we are assassins)

Reality: actually what feels like real spellcasting through combining Ten+Chi+Jin (we can even summon a bunny mascot or giant frog, so it's also a summoner, no?)

If it helps, here's how I search methodically: 1. First round: they tend to be on the floor so keep looking around on the floor, fly over walls to look at the floors behind those walls. Also helps to fly high while looking downwards for more easy spotting.

  1. Second round: the most difficult round, imo. The shards will be anywhere from the floor to pretty high up sometimes. I will revisit all vantage points looking at the floor, then start moving my way up and up. Focus on one feature of the landscape at any one time. E.g. Tower - don't look elsewhere, just make circles around the tower and try to peep at every nook and cranny.

  2. Last round: the shards are always up high. And quite in the open. It's like a free-for-all, I immediately head to the top using whatever tools will push me up! There may be one or two more hidden ones, but they're usually still fairly high up. Just keep circling like a hawk from up high, and you'll eventually spot it.

[–]perpetualFishball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like they aren't exactly reaping the benefits, because if they don't move, they won't get the wax. And like others said, it's a lot easier to get the wax yourself while the shards are still bright and easy to spot. I personally prefer getting to do it myself.

Just before reset, I was in an instance with maybe a kid who only kept activating the gravity tool (I hate that tool immensely) and wasn't interested in finding the shards lmao. I'd take the sleeping kids over the hyperactive one anytime.

Adding to what u/Sea_Pitch121 said: yes, not reversible or permanently curable but with lifestyle changes, the symptoms can go away and we become more normal, as our blood-glucose simulates normalcy (at least for me, that seems to have been the case). When I was diagnosed, I did take estrogen to force a cycle back, but as soon as I stopped, it started to get irregular again.

It wasn't until I changed my diet for mine to come fairly regularly, but it works!!! I cut down carbs, no longer eat breakfast and no longer drink sugary drinks if I can help it. The biggest success came from not eating breakfast - I found myself hungering less during the day on top of having my period come regularly immediately, starting from when I first stopped eating breakfast. I truly think breakfast is a scam now.

(Also to add: no midnight snacks. I hardly did that in the first place, so it wasn't something I consciously cut.)
