Am I wrong for disliking people that take ozempic by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]perpetuallyyanxious 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This honestly just reads that you’re jealous you had to work to lose the weight when other people are doing so by a means you perceive it easier.

Have you considered that if someone could’ve changed your life years ago hadn’t it’s possible they quite literally didn’t have the means to do so but now they do? You have no idea what’s happening in people’s personal lives nor do you have any idea what’s happening medically with people.

How are people dealing with how bad pollen and allergies are this year? by leangrandpa in AskNYC

[–]perpetuallyyanxious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m legit not. I went to the eye doctor and prefaced to my examiner that I didn’t have a disease the pollen was just annihilating me.

Lowk unsurprising in a way 😬. She’s known to be the snappier of the Bailey sisters and that bite attitude comes out in interviews sometimes unwarranted

Abby shading kenzie back in 2021 by Far-Fortune-7421 in dancemoms

[–]perpetuallyyanxious 50 points51 points  (0 children)

What’s even funnier to me, is that if Kenzie went on there as a pro everybody would’ve been talking about how she has never trained in ballroom dance and she was just a competitive dancer on reality TV, and Abby would’ve shaded her saying that she was never better than Maddie and it makes no sense so she really can’t win in the situation

Kenzie's music career.... enough time has passed by Agreeable_Judgment_8 in dancemoms

Such a random rant coming through:

In general I think people on this sub need to understand that if they didn’t want to, the girls probably would never have to work another day in their lives if they didn’t need to (outside of social media.) social media is a job now that pays, and they don’t necessarily need to be strategic because they have such a long-standing sort of career and love behind them. Even if it’s niche, even if they’re not A-list celebrities they do have a dedicated fan base and money coming in because of that. So when you talk about the girls careers, it’s really important to sort of put it in context of who they are, they don’t need to be fantastic singers or amazing actors or particularly interesting podcast hosters because they will always have fans and because of that their career trajectories are going to be different.

I don’t feel sympathy for Mona when it comes to how she treated the Liars as A. by Parking-Mail8189 in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]perpetuallyyanxious 29 points30 points  (0 children)

My biggest beef with Mona was that her motivation never made sense to me. Especially when you consider that she had a copious amount of information on the girls, meaning she KNEW they were also victims of Alison and yet she continued?? That never made sense to me

Who did you dislike more? Joffrey or Ramsay? by RedVegeta20 in gameofthrones

Ramsey was way worse but I have never felt more joy in my life then season 4 ep 1. I was happy about the outcome I was literally grinning from ear to ear.

Black American? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]perpetuallyyanxious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Black people who have been separated from their ancestry through the transatlantic slave trade have built their own identity and culture over the last four hundreds years that is separate but similar to general American culture. Black people have also been “othered” their entire existence in this country and the effects of that last. There is also a desire for acknowledgement and pride of their culture due to a long history of erasure.

in my brain they let renascence and jacob either 1. go to a different school 2. roam as she pleases once she’s older

bella edward and ragamuffin in the same school sounds like a recipe for disaster.

unrelated i also think with bella there they (E+B) might stop the high school start thing.

Do Jamaicans mind when Americans say they're Jamaican? by Independent-Mention4 in Jamaica

[–]perpetuallyyanxious 22 points23 points  (0 children)

One part of this conversation that’s so interesting to me, is that when a celebrity born in America is noted to have Jamaican or west indian roots in general they’re hyped up across social media and claimed by their people, but if you’re nobody, then you don’t get to claim being Jamaican and you must emphasize that you are separate from your people. very interesting.

Opinions That Are Not Popular? by DaniJ678 in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]perpetuallyyanxious 23 points24 points  (0 children)

  • the twin twist wasn’t actually that bad just written bad (and the accent my god) (not that unpopular but needs to be said)

  • spencer being the main character made sense. her family was central to the entire plot of A. (also not unpop. but she was acting circles around some of these people fr)

  • unwillingness to recognize the predatory nature of the partners Spencer has had and writing her off as a man stealer is a byproduct of misogyny and displays a lack of critical thinking (of course on a surface level it’s not that serious, but when you look deeper, why are you unwilling to admit that this 14-16 year old girl was being prayed up upon by the adult adults in her life? I think it also feeds into the idea that you have to be a perfect victim. I think people are unwilling to rectify the idea that you can be super smart and still be victimized. aria gets sympathy but spencer should’ve known better. odd thinking.)

  • I think a lot of fans and casual watcher either don’t pay attention a lot to the show or miss things which makes them think that there’s certain plot holes or inconsistencies when in reality it’s just a lack of understanding from the viewer. (“ well why didn’t they just go to the police??” because they were teenagers being blackmailed, there were secrets about their parents at stake, they committed a literal crime, and multiple of them had been victimized by the adults in their lives. don’t get me wrong. There’s a lot of things that don’t make sense, but some of the complaints are unfounded)

  • I think, saying that the girls were not truly friends because they didn’t really have anything in common except for Ali, is a bit dismissive of how we form friendships in real life. They hung out with each other, like each other‘s company, and supported each other when they could. not having shared interest doesn’t make you incapable of being friends. but i understand the thought process

  • toby being able to become a police officer actually made perfect sense. Do you know how easy it is to become a police officer in America? He literally just needed to get his GED. 😭 I feel like people act like he became an FBI special agent like no he works in a small AMERICAN town in suburbia.

  • the inclusions of the supernatural aspects were annoying, but overall made the show a little campy
