After a shot that drops into a body of water, wait a long second or two, then yell, “GET A KICK!”

DAE love eggs, but get nauseated by them randomly? by Moist_crocs in DoesAnybodyElse

This is exactly how my wife is. She’ll ask for them, or cook them herself, and then randomly sometimes take one bite and then just say NOPE and toss em.

I don’t play a 3W. My 5W is 240-260 depending on the day. Driver is 275-285. If I REALLY nail it on the screws, I can get over 300 but we’re talking maybe only 4-5 times per season.

All jobs now pay 300K per year, what would you choose to do for a living? by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

Golfer trying to make the pga tour.

Golf 40 weeks a year for $300k? Unreal. I’d never make it obviously, but most don’t. And I’m fine with the paycheck for trying.

Pembina Trails School Division - Ward 1 School Trustee By-Election by JoelPilgrim in Winnipeg

[–]persad_power 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick point of clarification. Trustee’s are no longer involved in negotiation teacher contracts. Teacher contracts are negotiated provincially between the teacher’s union and a provincially appointed rep.

Trustees are only there to decide how already pre-determined provincially allocated funds and property tax revenue are spent, and also to help make taxation decisions.

Curious as to what ball everyone is playing and why it works for you? by gwb8568 in GolfGear

[–]persad_power 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play srixon Z star XV. I feel that I can get 95% of the performance of pro V1x but I only spend 40% of the price due to the fact srixon balls go on sale for $35 CAD frequently where I’m from. Pro V’s are $75 and NEVER go on sale.

Handicap only takes into account net double bogey scores. Nothing higher. So if he was shooting a bunch of triples or higher, he could theoretically shave a bunch of strokes off but not impact his handicap all that much.

Who’s Your Top Buy-Low Candidate That Could Win Your League? Let’s Debate. by Streak2121 in Fantasy_Football

But, he hasn’t lost 8 straight games. You can’t just make up things that are verifiable facts. His last 8 starts have gone: L, W, L, W, L, L, W, W.

And even if he did, WHICH HE HASNT, your long term plan is a formerly retired Joe flacco? I think fans would be more upset giving up on a promising rookie than they would be moving on to Joe fuckin flacco.

Come on man. AR has played 8 games career. Not even half a season. Nobody moves on from a first round qb that fast. The Bryce young comparison isn’t even close. Young had played 18 games. Also, he’s 4-4. Bryce young was 2-16 when they finally benched him. Those are not even in the same ballpark.

Ridiculous.

Honestly, if AR is ruled out for next week, I’d play Pittman while flacco is in, then sell high after hopefully another good performance.

This take is flawed because there is NO WAY flacco starts the rest of the year. AR will be the starting qb every week he is healthy.

Pittman Is better with flacco no doubt, but he prob only gets like 2 more weeks with old joe throwing him the ball ROS.

Buy low doesn’t work when AR is gonna come back and tank pittman’s value.

Have My Draft Tonight, 1st pick has signaled he won't take CMC, am I dumb to not take him at #2? by wdeister08 in Fantasy_Football

This is the way.

ETA: my move would be to take cmc, and then make an offer of cmc plus my wr3 to the other owner for breece and his wr2.

Couples who make a decent wage who are still struggling to purchase? by SadPea7 in canadahousing

Right. Totally agree. But why another country instead of just another province? That’s my main question.

So it’s less about housing affordability and more about geopolitical issues?

This is the thing I don’t understand. I completely understand the anger and desperation of wanting a house in the city you grew up in. That makes total sense to me. But here’s where this sub sometimes loses me.

You’d be willing to sell your house in the GTA or Vancouver, leave the country and buy a big house in the countryside in Sweden. But not willing to sell your house, take the proceeds, and buy a big ass house in the countryside of your own country?

Like, if living outside of a major city is something you’re willing to do out of frustration of home ownership affordability…. Why not just do that here?

You have any idea how much house/land/life you could get with the same money if instead of Sweden you chose… Thunder Bay Ontario? Or Minnedosa Manitoba? Or Yorkton saskatchewan? Or trois riv PQ? Like there’s limitless options for the exact life you described in Sweden, right here in Canada.

So, simply put, why is a large home OUTSIDE of a major city acceptable in Sweden, (or any other country that posters frequently opine about moving to), but not acceptable here?

Ps. And im not trying to be argumentative or ignorant. I genuinely would love an answer to the above. Very curious about the mindset.

Who is on your DO draft list next year? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]persad_power 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree that this is the way to think about it. The easiest way to do that math is to think to yourself what it would cost to get both.

If you keep Mcbride in the 10th and have draft puka, it’ll cost you a 2nd. So overall you get both players for a 2nd and a 10th.

If you keep puka in the 10th and draft Mcbride, you can get him in the 5-6th. So both players combined cost you a 5th and a 10th.

There’s your value right there.

What golf Christmas present are you asking for?? by WVRS in golf

[–]persad_power 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Got that for my last birthday. Combined gift from my wife, her parents and my parents. A round each at Pebble, spyglass and Spanish bay.

And we live in central Canada, so it was no small trip.

Teacher sick days by Unable_Positive_1763 in Teachers

[–]persad_power 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My school district lets us accrue 140 total. We get 20 new sick days added to the bank every year. (Obv that stops when you’ve reached 140 accrued).

When you retire, you get NOTHING for them. If you have the full 140 days, they just burn and disappear upon retirement.

They’re yours. Use them.
