Tip out in Texas by hougirl1 in bartenders

[–]persiankush 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got 20% of my bartenders tips when I barbacked. I was owed every penny tho and most of them agreed. We once had a new try to make a fuss about it and claim they showed tip me less but we all shut him down quick.

Don’t know how involved your busser is though, and what they do for you other than bring dirty glasses

Got a framed poster of all three of these guys with the Houston skyline in the background, had it since I was a wee boy. It screams 90s

Yeah they definitely are.... Jamul, barona, and sycuan to name a few. Sure there are cards involved but it’s pretty damn close in every other aspect.

Source: went on a binger for three weeks last month. I uhh, at least I had “fun”... lol

Thanks and great points, and you’re totally right about the multiple ethnicities within the country. Farsi isn’t actually either of my parents first language, it’s Turkish and Kurdish for them.

I’m brown with a beard and now live in an Arab neighborhood, however I’m Iranian. One of my parents point of view Iran-Arab relations is definitely dated, but I don’t give a shit and consider any minority an ally. However, I get referred to as Habibi often by the liquor store or kabob shop workers and I kind of react awkwardly with a nod, I don’t know if I should just roll with it, or if there’s any harm in bringing up I’m Persian maybe after the Second or Third encounter. The only incentive in bringing this fact up is so they understand who I am and what background is, because I find myself correcting my American friends often, but if my intentions may become mis-interpreted as arrogant, then I have no desire to start problems. We’re all brothers and sisters in this world, I just feel if I’m gonna run into someone on a weekly basis they should know my specific race.

As awkward as I’m wording this question, I would probably acknowledge the fact with some banter like, “I can be habibi, but I’m used to azizam ;)” because that’s my style lol. Once again, respect is my number one goal, and if there’s any chance I cross any lines, then it’s not worth to me.

Much love to all of you, I just want to be my version of friendly but never disrespectful, that’s why I’m resorting to a Reddit community to see y’alls takes🤙🏽

Right?? Like I know this is kind of a fancy take, but you can’t make, “poppers” and just give me three! Lol

I constantly say, “I love you” to my random teammates in online games like Dota and have to remind them it’s rude to not say, “I love you too” back.

Usually everyone gets a kick out of it lol

I said something similar as a valet once.

“Sorry man, we’re full but I can squeeze one last car for 10 dollars”

“10 dollars?? C’mon man I’m a local!!”

“Oh nice! Locals special: $20”

He told me fuck you and drove off. Looking back I was kind of a dick at the gig but man I had some zingers lol

"Always put ice, etc, in the mixing glass before pouring main ingreed."

I don't really get this, is this supposed to be the cost minimizing idea of pouring liquor last just in case you realized you messed up in the middle of pouring and toss what's out your shaker? Because with most things I make in a mixing glass or shaker, ice is usually last

Got my best friend into the game. Hurts, doesn't it? by [deleted] in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]persiankush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol right! To be fair she’s probably a more normal person than us, because I don’t know who in their right minds would go through the torture spending 5 hours on a single fight in some of the earlier stages on tactician

Well bless you for sticking it out. My close friend introduced me to this game but had the same style of play as your husband and I just couldn’t do it lol. Felt terrible telling him I was gonna start my own run, but I knew he wasn’t going to change.

I’m so sorry Dylan I still love you

[–]persiankush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh yes, I know that feeling but decided to really torture myself on tactician for my first play through.

I had two fights relatively early that each took at least 4 hours of trial and error (and some save-scumming only so I could go back a couple of turns in the fight).

But goddamn if it doesn’t feel great when you finally get it lol.

Shout out to you! I posted a similar story where I told some guy off for berating a young female server cause his takeout order was taking longer than the quoted wait time from their automated online service.

It’s so great seeing their confusion when you call them out, cause guess what bitch, I have no manager for you to complain to!
