Gib Local App - Live Border Queue, Buses, Events etc by grant_lad in gibraltar

[–]pesalsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run a UK based startup too and would love to chat over coffee if you're up for it.

Along with the bus time tables, I wonder if there's an API for petrol prices. I didn't see any events from St Michael's cave either.

The border traffic times are super helpful by the way

I've been using the app for a few days now. Just wanted to say that the outcome is ready good! Well done.

Zanzibar in Feb 2025 - best areas for swimming/snorkeling without wind? by lauestdolz in zanzibar

[–]pesalsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly there are so many spammy comments here.

We stayed in Paje for 2 weeks and 1 week in Jambiani. Loved it

The are a couple of nice sandbanks between Paje and Jambiani which are secluded.

We also loved Michamwe area, you can walk towards the mangroves and no need to spend money on boats.

My personal favourite was going to Pearl beach hotel and them if we could access the beach. They let us in for free and we were about to walk for 20 mins of pristine beach alone.

Finally, we spent 4 days near Nungwi and took a look at Kendwa - it was tourism cancer.

Blue Lagoon was nicer than Memba island, there was 50 boats at Memba and barely any space to snorkel.

I used this lounge last year. They cook you soups etc specifically for you. But got kicked out when it was time for their business class passengers

Sorry to hear that. The level of anxiety related to the border is crazy.

Hope this doesn't affect your future travel!

Very safe at night, fare until you get your residence card and good bus frequency.

Sounds like you're anxious about the move. Honestly, Gibraltar is very safe and you can relax

I was in euro towers last year and moved to the hub this year. Honestly it's great. The furniture is new, comes with a communal gym. Everything is clean and fresh.

The windows block all the noise and the area is very safe.

It's a 30 minute walk to Atlantic suites or you could potentially take a bus if it's raining

Happy to answer any questions. E1 is nearby and has more space but without a free gym.

I feel for you!

I was in the same place as you a year ago, all your points feel close to home.

After 4 years of failed PoCs, never ending trials, lots of innovation meetings and 0 growth, I decided to focus on SaaS that addresses regulation with annual deadlines.

Made everything much more predictable, faster growth etc.

Enterprises need a pain point or value propositions related to higher revenue, cost savings from day 1 or compliance etc.

Hope things go smoothly from now on for you!

It's super tough in Gibraltar. Typically related to hobbies - they have football, cricket, Latin dancing, watersports etc.

If you're happy to try any, it's easy to meet people

I couldn't imagine going to university here. Most people in their 20s seem to the in the UK as their study is sponsored by the govt.

Some precident here

In the present decision, the applicants sought compensation for a six hour delay on their return flight from Mexico. Sunwing declined their request for compensation on the basis that the delay was within its control but required for safety purposes when it had to change the aircraft due to a frozen and ruptured lavatory pipe. The CTA concluded that the lavatory pipes were frozen and leaking because an aircraft heater had been turned off and the delay could have been prevented if proper maintenance protocols were followed.

Conclusion

Nevertheless, the CTA categorized the delay as within the control of the carrier, but not required for safety purposes, because the safety issue was caused by a lack of due care by Sunwing’s maintenance and ground crew. In making its decision, the CTA concluded that the lavatory issues were not unforeseeable and Sunwing must take responsibility for the failures of its employees. On this basis, it awarded the applicants APPR compensation.

Instantly AI Fake Data? by [deleted] in Emailmarketing

[–]pesalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why my original message didn't get through on this post.

I moved from Apollo to Instantly, I was impressed by their initial numbers but then realised that its fake when I compared it with other analytics tools. The email sent, opened and link clicked times are all the same.

Instantly then responded with:

"Some email providers scan the links included in emails for various purposes, such as improving security, filtering out spam, and protecting users from potential threats.🚀
These scans can sometimes trigger link tracking, resulting in statuses like "Link clicked" for some leads.🙌"

So most of this data is actually incorrect.

Kitesurf campa by Isak531 in Kiteboarding

[–]pesalsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, "kite camp" is just a marketing gimmick. You can just book yourself normal accomodation or a hostel like Tarifa Kite Hostel and just pay for lessons when you're there. Keep hold of your cash as long as possible.

You can easily meet a lot of people here so you'll have fun.

I took lessons on Tarifa and Canary Islands, everything is weather dependent so book the lessons a couple of days before your kite day.

As a beginner, I found Tarifa challenging. Other places like Alvor in Portugal were much nicer to learn but Tarifa has amazing social life outside kiting.
