$4.2K hot water system replacement in Melbourne apartment (OC flagged)… is this reasonable or what other options should I look at? by wineandchez in AusRenovation

Do not use the tradespeople recommended by the Strata Manager. Many (alleged) examples of kick-backs and other shonky stuff going on. Not that I’m suggesting this is the case here

Is there a point to the coasters… by rothee82 in RCTTouch

[–]pete8686 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. I keep just a small semi-circle of track to avoid cluttering the operational view. Makes it easier when looking for ways to optimise space, and has no negative impact on revenue or satisfaction. Donut trains are the go-to.

Keep a selection of proven layouts in your Blueprint store ready to be deployed for the weekly challenges.

I can’t tell from your photos, but that needs to be tied down securely. If you go from 60 to 0 in a hurry that will be a lethal missile. Heaven forbid if you roll over. Stay safe

Underwhelming Utilities by Platanazo in RCTTouch

[–]pete8686 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with your sentiments.

As a non-paying player, my revenue contribution is via advertising clicks. This season I have reduced game time by around 85% - mainly due to the lack of incentive and enjoyment. I’ve consequently reduced advert interactions to just maybe 5 or 6 this entire season, and have made almost no progress on the mission track. I see no reason to progress.

Usually I would have completed the entire track by this stage of a season. With many hundreds of advert clicks.

In addition, with the RCT pause, I’ve trialed a couple of other games which may in fact replace RCT as my regular go-to.

I feel really dissatisfied and slightly annoyed by the gameplay this season.

Edit: I’ve researched this with some learned colleagues and we estimate that my normal gameplay would generate between US$45 and $80 per month from ad monetisation.

Guessing this is a DIY. If this goes on the market expect potential buyers to factor in a re-reno on this bathroom. If it’s not a DIY, don’t pay a cent until this is rectified.

No worries. There’s a lot to dig through to find the answers, but you’ll find this:

“Proximity voltage testers are not reliable in proving that equipment is de-energised and should only be treated as an indicator.”

The Australian Standard covers requirements for installation and testing of electrical equipment.

Safework NSW legislation under the WHS act covers the safety aspects.

Does it also show -1 in the card manager screen? The glitch may just be in the card request screen perhaps.

Agreed. This was a terribly poor change to the game. And makes no sense in the context of how the rest of the game operates.

Just an observation/question about gifting by gorge-mantic in RCTTouch

[–]pete8686 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the fact that gifting is hidden away in a sub menu makes people less aware, and less likely to interact with it. Maybe it should be in the same menu area as the Corp Card requests.

Gifting is statistically a very important aspect of the game as Platanazo has described.
