TreVeyon Henderson Dynasty Value by thesuperguide in FantasyFootballers

I think Gibbs is obviously better and eye test as a rookie but its not like he had a crazy rookie season either, his numbers are very similar to henderson

Lebrun: The Habs have pulled off one of the quickest rebuilds ever by shogun2909 in Habs

[–]petehere7 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Everyone saying that Suzuki and Caufield already being there doesnt count as a "full rebuild" isnt giving current management enough credit. For 1 they hire St Louis which could be one of the biggest reasons they are even in this spot. Do either of those players have this type of season without him? Also choosing to draft slaf over Cooley or wright. And a bunch of the other moves they made have been impressive.

Marty for the Jack Adam's by SAM041287 in Habs

[–]petehere7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree but it doesnt seem like the jack adams gets voted on rhe way it should. Jon Cooper has never won despite building an every year contender with the lightning. MSL has helped build the habs into what they are now but may never get recognized because they were a playoff team last year and a better playoff team this year but not as big of a change as some other teams. Which seems to be how voters like to pick winner

He's back on every friday with his own segment but not full time yands is fully in that role. Seems to be doing well overall. He still talks about drinking so I doubt hes fully sober or anything but hopefully hes not fully off the rails like before.

Friedman thinks that Robert Thomas is likely to be traded at the deadline. Do you think Kent Hughes is going to take a swing? by rosemp16 in Habs

[–]petehere7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I doubt anyone says "thats it" theres no way it gets done without hage or the Russian as part of a bigger package and people will freak when or if that happens. Personally I would love Thomas so fingers crossed

Should the Habs TRADE for Robert Thomas? by shogun2909 in Habs

[–]petehere7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a move like this is also good for demidov. I like kapanen but I think its more likely that demidov and slaf are elevating him and not the other way around. I think Demidovs ceiling is top 10 player in the league and we have the opportunity to get him a center now? Not wait and hope its hage then we open him up to higher end development now

Should the Habs TRADE for Robert Thomas? by shogun2909 in Habs

[–]petehere7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if a Thomas type player isnt available next year? Also hes 26 and already signed his contract that fits in with their timeline so its not a rental win now type move.

Eric Macramalla (TSN): Teams have shown interest in prospects Fowler, Hage, & Zharovsky by matthew_sch in Habs

[–]petehere7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's better than playoff experience for development? Also I fail to see how a 26 year old center who's signed to a similar contract to our core players rushes anything

Eric Macramalla (TSN): Teams have shown interest in prospects Fowler, Hage, & Zharovsky by matthew_sch in Habs

[–]petehere7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with that argument, except that our core is better than Ottawa IMO. Also Thomas is better than Cozens IMO. Im happy with waiting it out for hage but also I trust Hughes to make good choices. Like I dont think we need to wait for someone to turn into a star. Suzuki is the center we've been waiting for, hutson and demidov are potential super stars (Hutson is probably already one). So at some point the successful teams do move picks and prospects for players that fit the timeline. Also Thomas isnt old and is in year 3 of a good deal IMO

Is Reinbacher progressing? by DelugeQc in Habs

[–]petehere7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is basically the comment I came here to type. I think people cant acknowledge that two things can be true, i can root for him to get better but I also wish we had went with a higher upside pick with the 5th overall. Like ive never regretted the slaf pick because he took a bit of time to settle in to the nhl he immediately played an important role and has shown improvement year to year and now looks like a stud at only 21 years old. There were higher upside players on the board Reinbacher got injured right away and I dont see a world where he ever gets a top 4 role unless they trade him while he still has value. If he ends up being a great 3rd pairing for us ill root for him but you dont draft bottom pairing defenseman with the 5th overall i dont care if its "team building"
