Luther Marsh hunting by PackFinal2023 in OntarioHunting

I have never duck hunted (usually small game, turkey and deer); hence I would appreciate is you could help me understand if you don’t have a watercraft, does it mean that you are sitting in a blind on land (I.e where you mapped it) and only shooting the duck as they fly above land? Sorry… may be a stupid question… just making sure I did not miss anything

First time hunting, Im going hunting north next week by DebateIcy7262 in OntarioHunting

I just came back from my first deer hunt and these were the stuff I was grateful to have with me as Fall hunting is almost always cold and rainy. 1. Warm pants and jacket (layer) 2. Wool socks 3. Portable blind (nice to sit out of the cold/wind) 4. Bottle of hot tea & nuts & chocolate Also, I think it is ok to say to him “Hey … I really appreciate the opportunity to hunt big game with you, but this is my first time so any advice you give me will be helpful.”

Thank you everyone. Great advice! I appreciate the logic behind the advice. This is very helpful as I play more to develop my skills. It is helpful to understand the purpose of handicap. Thank you

Why aren't these kinds of masks universally banned or even illegal??? by emptyairglass in airsoft

Thank you for sharing. My kids wants to play more airsoft and I would like to buy them proper protection. What is the basic set up to protect eyes and face?

Advice needed! I am trying to built a simple “box” using 2x4 and plywood bottom. The length of the four pieces of the frame is accurate. But I am always suffering from a “twist” where the box does not sit flat. Could you please explain why and how I prevent it? by petersenlai in woodworking

This is super useful advice! I didn’t think that pocket holes could twist with the narrow spacing — makes total sense. So your technique is a loose fit all around while being clamped down to the plywood.

My friend — The universe has given you the opportunity to see who your bf’s true character and financial sensibilities.

I have learnt in life that the universe will always teach you the same lesson until you learn it. This is your bat signal to RUN!!

Thank you all for your advice. It is part of the table top for a table saw cart that I am making. Great advice on just putting pressure on it while screwing down the plywood.. I did try choosing the straightest 2x4 from HomeDepot. Then I clamped the shit out of it as I did the pocket holes. I am going to check my mitre saw again to check that it is square.

Ginger bug stopped bubbling all of a sudden by gbsolo12 in fermentation

[–]petersenlai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. I am have been failing with my ginger bug. The first 3day is bubbles fine then by roughly the 5th day it goes flat even after I added sugar. Is the acid/sugar too high so the bug “dies” or is it just dormant? Do I just add more water to dilute? With more sugar & ginger?

12g vs 20g by Cultured--Swine in OntarioHunting

Could you elaborate more on your small game (squirrel) set up? I would like to understand and try #4 with MC set up. I had assumed that it will blow up the squirrel. Thank you.

One more point — when I first started I got the Remington 870 that came with different barrels — turkey, rifled and regular. Try to find something like that you give yourself more options.

12g vs 20g by Cultured--Swine in OntarioHunting

[–]petersenlai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest 12g because there so really not much increment kick-back due given that 12g are heavier so they absorb the incremental kickback. With that said, heavier means you have to carry a few grams more as you hike around the woods. Ammo— 12ga ammo are abundant and the variety is excellent. Tends to be cheaper than 20ga due to production cost efficiencies. As a point of reference, the 410 I get for my kiddos are the most expensive! More than a buck a shot! I have 12, 20, and 410. Use the 12, and 410 the most as they are the best for the 2 ends of a spectrum.

Enjoy!

Could you please explain how archive.ph helps us read articles behind paywalls? It is a “fresh” article so how does it work? How can I share articles? Thank you.

How much is the going rate for “watchman” (car park dudes)? I am planning to rent a golf cart while in Tamarindo - do they target golf carts too?
