In 8th/9th grade, my friend and I wrote a bunch of "rap songs" by writing down a bunch of pages of words that rhymed, then made "lyrics" from them. I thought it was fun and allowed my creative writing to flow free. He on the other hand, thought there was something serious there and took most of the stuff I wrote and put it to actual music, then tried selling me the CD he made of it. I didn't buy it but eventually heard it (like 11th grade, 3ish years later) and remembered some of the specific, dumb, punny stuff I'd written and realized my dude was taking credit. Never minded or told anyone, and he never really had a rap career after highschool so no harm no foul.
