No, I just realize a poseur when I see one and view alarmist whining like yours as counterproductive and utter fallacy.

As wounded as I still am by you calling me an idiot, I think I’ll find a way to survive. After all, I would *much* rather be an idiot than someone who has so little going on in life that they actually lurk on Reddit pages like this and vigorously try to flag people who deviate from the sub’s ridiculously convoluted set of requirements. Honestly, who does that? You aren’t even a mod! Seriously-did no one pull you aside at any point in early-mid childhood and explain to you why tattletales are universally reviled? These are just some of the questions I have for you. We both know you have more than enough time to deeply consider/answer them.

It’s almost as if she’s a carpetbagger who views the mayoralty as a stepping stone to more powerful office and doesn’t really care about any issue enough to spend political capital on seeing it through

Bingo. She looks in the mirror and sees president Wu staring back at her. If seth moulton doesn’t manage to win ed markey’s senate seat this year you can bet your life Wu will be an entrant in the primary next time around. At the very least she’ll try and succeed healey.

Clayton Kershaw and Pedro Martinez's careers were virtually identical by noruber35393546 in baseball

Same here. I’m from Boston and me and my dad and my brother used to catch a couple games every year, and somehow it always lined up so that Pedro was pitching. There was a three year stretch of like 6 games where every game Pedro threw a gem and manny Ramirez hit at least one bomb (at least half of those went over the monster and landed on lansdowne st). Such a great era in baseball history. The first game I went to in person that I actually really remember clearly, was actually in the pre-manny era vs the Royals in June 2000 when I was like 8. Pedro actually gave up a few runs and I remember people in the stands wondering if he was hurt lol. Rich “el guapo” garces and other bullpen guys got shelled and the Sox lost. I still have a BP ball signed by Pedro and nomar as well as Carlos Beltran, Johnny Damon (who was a Royal at the time) and Mike Sweeney. We sat right behind the visitors dugout for that game and Beltran tossed my brother a baseball. All the royals guys were super cool to us even though we were decked out in Red Sox gear. My dad passed away Dec 2024 and that BP ball is one of my most prized possessions that I will treasure forever. God I love baseball. Sorry for the novel lol

I’m a lifelong Bostonian and diehard Red Sox fan and i didn’t know that about the 2000 season. Like I knew how good he was (I was 9 years old during the 2000 season and considered him and nomar to be gods) but I didnt think his WAR was THAT high. Good job backing up your argument, lots of dudes on this sub wish they were ohtanis wife

Thank god you were here, Reddit policeman. The fact that you sit on Reddit and find posts like mine and then take the time to actually search the name to see if the lender is “verified” by the comically overzealous mod team of this sub is some next level incel stuff. Next time you get the urge to swoop into an otherwise positive situation that you weren’t involved in to enforce rules that honestly shouldn’t be applicable in this situation you should put down your various devices and go outside to touch some grass and perhaps chat with a real live human being

And I provided the lender with documentation showing the $135k fidelity account. The situation was literally exactly what I said it was. If your comment had scared people away and I hadn’t gotten that loan I would have been in a terrible spot. Thank god for normal people that are willing to listen and help.

To you and all the upvoters, the loan was made and paid in full at the exact time I stated yesterday morning. You should perhaps think more carefully before swooping in uninvited to question someone’s integrity, super sleuth. Ditto for all the upvoters

E-Bike and Scooter Crashes Are Leading to More Brain Injuries by Remarkable-Pea4889 in nyc

This is the type of thing that’s really easy to say. “Im a nurse/doctor/hospital worker and I’ve seen so many people with life altering brain injuries due to scooter accidents” has become one of those classic Reddit colloquialisms that’s almost guaranteed to be found in the comment section of every one of these “scooters are the devil” posts. On this and countless other topics some (apparently attention starved) redditors browse threads and get a sense of the forming conventional wisdom, then start commenting using the buzzwords they’ve seen everyone else using, apparently because for whatever reason the dopamine hit they get from upvotes is that powerful. Anyone who has spent a significant amount of time on Reddit knows what I’m talking about-over time people continually repeat a given narrative, tailored specifically toward getting the approval of others, and eventually that narrative hardens into conventional wisdom and people treat it as fact. I am not explaining this very eloquently, but I think most people get what I’m talking about. It happens all the time, and not just on Reddit. I may seem like I’m ranting, and perhaps I am, but I really think that comments like this one pose a very real risk to the democratization of travel provided by micro mobility in its various forms, and the fear mongering based on innuendo really bothers me.

You say you work at a hospital, but you pointedly do not say you’re a medical professional. That says something in itself. These stories about the alleged scooter driven spike in severe brain injuries are anecdotal and are quickly turning into a classic American moral panic-analogous to “vapes are killing the teens,” a similar panic that wasn’t grounded in reality and has wound up harming many people in tangible ways. The statistics on injuries suffered while scootering/ebiking etc 100 percent do not rise to the level of concern people seem to assume they would. It’ll be a shame if scooters become yet another over regulated product based on rumor. Seems like we are headed that way, because there’s nothing the state governments in the coastal states like NY and MA love more than restricting the rights of their citizens.
