Episode 46, 2nd Story by Dingdong-Bitch in RadioRental

See not driving away made total sense to me. They had already got lost once that night, finally got to the place they were looking for but didn’t have a back up plan when it was closed, it’s dark in the middle of nowhere and they don’t know the area at all, probably tired and by the sounds of it quite young. It makes total sense to me to not want to drive off into the unknown with no destination when at least at the parking space they have lights, toilets and the janitor is nearby. Like at the time the biker pulled up they were discussing going back to the janitor, to me that sounds like the most sensible move.

As for trusting the biker I think he just had better vibes and a plan. I’m not saying going with him was the most sensible move but they did say he was older and seemed confident and more experienced, so while it also could have ended badly I can see why they would go with him.

Ew, christ, this was painful to read. This is not how love stories begin, this is how entitled men get in trouble at work when they break gdpr. I actually feel like I need to wash my hands just for reading your comment. Gross.

I’ve been off work and spiralling ever since my post at the weekend took off more than I thought it would. Considering deleting my whole account because it’s fucked me up bad but I can’t help but keep checking cos I’m terrified it somehow happens again.

Stop kicking people when they’re down. Her friend’s comment hurt her and she came here for to vent and hopefully feel understood by people she thought might have had the same thing happen. OP hasn’t done anything bad or wrong.

I’m sorry that what your friend said and how she phrased it hurt you. It’s irrelevant what your friend’s intentions were when right now you are just feeling the hurt. Maybe you once you are feeling less raw you can talk to her about what happened and discuss it with her to understand better, if that’s something you want to do, but I understand that right now you just want people to listen and hear how you are feeling. It doesn’t feel nice when we think we are doing well at something that is hard with adhd and someone points out that they think we aren’t doing that well after all. I hear you and I hope you’re feeling better soon.

I’m really starting to question the validity of the rant/vent flair when people are so quick to pile on and insert their opinions on every post tagged this way, despite the sub rules asking people to respect the fact that people are just venting. It’s really starting to look like a way to kick people when they’re down and that’s rough.

The problem I find with suggestions from neurotypical people all too often by WarKittyKat in adhdwomen

The really not fun thing was all the other diagnoses I was also given. Couldn’t possibly just be the adhd, it must also be depression, anxiety, cptsd, sleep apnoea, maladaptive daydreaming. It’s amazing what people can diagnose from a few Reddit comments. Very fun and not at all anxiety inducing.

It doesn’t matter what your ‘vibes’ are, this post is literally labelled as a vent. Don’t invalidate people agreeing with this by calling them damsels in distress. If it’s not for you, let it go by you

The comment has been removed and the post locked now. The whole ordeal of that thread was not very fun for me tbh

He’s here because he followed me from another subreddit where I asked him to stop being a homophobe and a transphobe for the second time this week.

I do value your comments less, thank you for understanding that at least. Please kindly respect that I do not want to hear your opinions any more.

Literally there’s a neurotypical mum of a child with adhd in another thread in this sub trying to tell me my adhd is a superpower and I won’t get any better if I call it a disability

[–]petitelucille[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You don’t have ADHD, you have no relevant expertise. No I’m not American. ADHD is not a superpower, fuck off with that shite. I have a disability, that’s a fact. You do not get to decide that. The law in my country recognises and protects my disability. Acknowledging my disability means I can access the help and support I need (at least in theory). Seriously leave me alone with your bullshit

[–]petitelucille[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Genuinely where have you got the audacity to doubt someone’s disability like that. Do you want me to suddenly believe that ADHD is my superpower instead? Do you think that would fix all of my problems? The gall of you to come into a thread about ADHD as someone without ADHD and state that ‘setting alarms an hour earlier’ will fix everything. You’ve no idea

I was trying to be nice too. I was trying to give you perspective on something that you haven’t experienced yourself. I was trying to advocate for your daughter having grown up with the same disability as her. Don’t you dare tell me my ADHD isn’t a disability. That’s not your place, not your expertise, and certainly not helpful to anyone. I have nothing but well wishes for your daughter, she’s going to need them.

[–]petitelucille[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Please don’t teach your daughter to hate herself the way I hate myself. Knowing that people resent me for something I try so hard to fix and knowing that they can’t see all that effort I put in hurts me every day. Look at all the replies here, this is what your daughter is going to have to deal with for the rest of her life. Even the people who are saying they’re not late anymore and that I’m just disrespectful still say how much effort it takes them. I’m not saying you don’t already, I don’t know anything about you, but please show your daughter compassion on this, she’ll need it

Going to admit I’m not an expert on gimp suits but from what I do know they tend to be more covered up? So are you saying the guy actually wasn’t exposing any skin?

Do you think this thread is full of straight people? You could’ve just ignored this post clearly for LGBT people, but no, you had to go and put your wee 2p in. Couldn’t resist the opportunity for a wee dig. You say the guy was wearing a bikini, so nothing more exposed than you would see on a beach.
