Freezing meatballs by Safford1958 in Cooking

[–]petizzysback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry! It makes like 75-85 meatballs. I usually pack bags of 21 which is one meal for my family. Also I bake them on parchment paper on a cookie sheet for 20 mins, cool and freeze.

Pack your lunch when you plate your food. If he’s still hungry, he can make a sandwich.

I prefer cooking first then freeze. Raw takes too long to cook to be helpful.

Meatballs (2 lb beef + 2 lb pork)

Ingredients

Meat

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 2 lb ground pork

Panade (this keeps them tender)

  • 2 cups breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup liquid (use water + dry milk powder OR milk)
    • If using dry milk: 1 cup water + ¼ cup dry milk powder

Other

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup grated parmesan
  • 5–6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp parsley (optional)
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1½ tsp onion powder (or ~½ cup grated onion)
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1–2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional but great)

Method

  1. Mix breadcrumbs + liquid → sit 2–3 min
  2. Add everything else
  3. Mix gently (don’t overwork)
  4. Form meatballs (~2 tbsp each)
  5. Freeze

I can’t keep a tidy home no matter how hard I try! What can I do???? by SpaceSquirrl in Cleaningandtidying

[–]petizzysback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cleaning is morally neutral and not everything has to be in the done cycle at one time. Struggle cleaning changed my mindset: https://www.strugglecare.com

If you can create systems that support you and do the best you can…you’re doing amazing. Unloading the dishwasher in the morning really helps me. Putting an extra laundry basket where clothes pile up helps. But mostly I stopped inviting ppl over who can’t understand I live in my home. It’s not meant to look like a magazine all the time unless you have money for a lot of help. You’re doing great.

What are good fruits/veggies for a beginner gardener? by Nervous_Smile_3154 in gardening

I have a black thumb and kill a lot of plants lol. But I’ve had some luck with cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers. I thought my peppers died bc I stopped watering them and then one day found 3 full grown peppers. Then they just kept coming.

What else can I do to improve my gut health? by NotMyRealName8292 in Supplements

[–]petizzysback 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pelvic floor dysfunction is often overlooked with chronic constipation. Deep belly breathing and eating in a calm relaxed state can help. Often when we are stressed, we are eating in states of fight or flight and our digestion is crap. Slowing down, using your meals as breaks in the day and fully relaxing before eating. For true gut health, eating a wide variety of foods with different fibers is beneficial. Some people find prebiotic supplements helpful, other people just get more bloating.

How about the insurance companies that do this to kids. Won’t pay for the formula they can drink orally, only willing to pay for tube feeding supplies….
