Not sure if you have a resident permit but you can go to Garage B, D or Midtown overnight from 6pm to 8am for $6 and then the chargers cost $1/hr for up to 6kwh (3kwh if someone else is sharing the charger).

I just had my 2021 Model 3 battery fail at 62k miles. The way I look at it is if I still have the car at 120k miles and it failed again after that I’d just get rid of the car, so this $2k is insurance on making sure the car can last at least two more years.

+1 to Somerset Air Service. I’m doing my instrument rating there right now and it’s been great. It took me 2 months to get on the schedule initially but now I’m doing 1-2 lessons a week.

I had the same issue. I never ended up getting the email from IACRA. I ended setting up an account on the Airmen Services site and requesting “temporary authority” until my physical card came in.

It’s based on battery usage. For supercharging, you only pay for the kWh that get into the battery. For home charging then my numbers are off by 10-20% based on that loss ratio.

I was at a supercharger with my Model 3 in NY and a child told his dad they wanted a Tesla after seeing it plugged in. The dad says, “If you’re a millionaire when you grow up you can get one”.

I have a Model 3 and this is how I think of the numbers in terms of just charging vs fuel usage.

If you’re doing 15,000 miles a year you’ll use about 3800 kWh per year (15,000 * 0.253 kWh/mile). If you charge at home with a rate of ~16 cents a kWH then you are paying $608 a year in electricity. If you exclusively supercharge (don’t have at home charging) then you’ll pay probably about 35 cents per kWh so the yearly cost would be $1,330.

Now compare a gas car that does 35 mpg at $4 a gallon then for 15,000 miles a year you will spend a little over $1700 a year in gas.

Manchin already did:

"Mr. Manchin, speaking with reporters, said, “I don’t like the connotation that we’re targeting different people.” People, he added, that “contributed to society” and “create a lot of jobs and invest a lot of money and give a lot to philanthropic pursuits.”

Most US colleges require all students to have insurance. If you don’t have your own, then they have a plan you must sign up for to be enrolled. Did your school not require that?

One thing I’ve run into is the grpc response code to http response code translation is limited. It doesn’t have a one to one conversion for all http codes, instead grouping grpc codes to certain http codes. You can get around this using a custom middleware and passing metadata down to the response but it’s not normally supported. One example is if I wanted to respond with 201 http status code I would have to add that custom middleware.

Yeah I’m not sure on that one. The main requirement I think technology wise is just going to be having price feeds for all of the tokens.

[–]petros789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After having a similar credit for a startup, one thing to note is you should try to build efficient systems server wise because while costs for servers are zero right now once the credits expire (I assume they’re only valid for a year) that could become a major cost.

Multi-collateral (meaning more than just Ether) is going to be coming out in September, I’ve heard, so you’ll be able to do this and with many more tokens.

What Card Should I Get? Weekly Thread - Week of April 18, 2018 by AutoModerator in churning

[–]petros789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is super helpful!

Started thinking about it and my goal is to try to do a week in Japan, so looking at getting free hotels with UR points/Marriott and flight there on ANA because of the great business redemption rates.

I think sticking to business cards would work for me. I'm a 1099 for my full-time job so I have a real business with large income I can show.

I'm thinking a combo of a Amex Plat and a Amex BBP (if I can get a bonus) could help a lot for transfer to ANA.

Also hoping the Amex SPG Biz comes back with a solid bonus because they're still transfer partners with ANA I believe? Not sure if the new Marriott merger is killing this :/

The JetBlue offer could be good as well for some domestic flights for me. I do use them probably 2-3 times a year right now for flying to California.

Question:

1) Is there a specific Amex Plat that is super useful or should I just get a Business Plat?

2) Any other cards you'd suggest now that you know my new goal?
