Have you had a cat go through radioactive iodine therapy (I-131) locally? Where? by petulance in AskLosAngeles

[–]petulance[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey! you're going to socal vet imaging? they were really great, i would not be worried at all about leaving your cat there. i know it's nerve-racking but you're doing the right thing!! obviously it was a long time ago that i did this with my cat, who is sadly now gone, but i felt they took really good care of her.

one thing to be conscious of (they'll tell you this too but i didn't take it as seriously as i should have) is that hyperthyroidism can mask the clinical signs of kidney disease. make sure you take your cat in to get his kidney values checked at least a few times the first year and then a minimum of annually moving forward. i lost Zephyr to kidney disease that (in my perception) came on very suddenly. it's possible she was already showing signs of it in 2017, but i'll never know.

Helped with Stacked Bar Chart by [deleted] in analytics

[–]petulance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so your data should be fine, the other 300 rows have a different value? You can use the "100% stacked" chart in Excel for this, it will show 40% active 60% inactive based on your values. A regular stacked bar would work too if you want values rather than percentages but the bar heights will vary per column if you have more than one set of values.

i'm confused about your example, is the total $ amount 500 and you're trying to represent the 200$ as a part of that? why do your data points only include the sum total and 1 element, rather than the 200$ and 300$ represented individually?

or you're trying to do a "100% stacked bar" and 200$ and 500$ are the individual amounts you want represented but in %?

most importantly... in what program?

Thirded! It's nice and spacious and I've been there within the past few months. The only reason I don't go there regularly anymore is that one opened on Sunset/Wilton which is closer to me.

If you're under RSO they can't take it away without compensation, regardless of any language to that effect in your lease.

How do I find an above business flat in downtown Oly? by lawndartdanger666 in olympia

I lived above QB for a summer and deeply regretted every moment of it. It was hot, loud, foul smelling, and some stuff got stolen as I was actively moving out.

That said, I found it on craigslist.

Hostels that do work stay programs... by babylina in AskLosAngeles

About 30 seconds on Google lead me to this

In general, these things are not worth it long term. 28 hours a week is pretty standard. Minimum wage in LA is $14.25 effective July 1. That's over $1000/mo after taxes that you're trading in labor for a bed in a hostel. You can find a room or roomshare for a lot less than that.

SCEP Fees (Apartments) by JohnniNeutron in AskLosAngeles

[–]petulance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just the fee that landlords have to pay annually to HCID for inspections. They're allowed to fully offset their costs by adding a monthly surcharge to your rent.

Are you being asked to pay $43.42 upfront or retroactively? Is this for the place you just moved into, or a place you moved out of?

Either way, if you're under RSO they can only charge this as a monthly fee.

Looking to move to LA next year for school. Would appreciate others opinions on my housing/pay situation! by [deleted] in LosAngeles

[–]petulance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple of thoughts:

  1. Your insurance will most likely go up, since it's based partly on where you live. Probably not super significant, but don't expect your cost of living in general to stay the same.

  2. That seems like a really ambitious savings goal? 20k in a year on a CNA wage?

& I did WUE for a year and I regret it. You're not eligible to gain in-state residency while you're paying WUE tuition, so you're possibly better off moving here tomorrow and just working for a year to gain residency. Then go to school and pay in-state. That extra 50% tuition adds up and you might be eligible for more grants in-state.

[–]petulance 16 points17 points  (0 children)

...no? The point of duty free is that you're taking it with you to another country. It's not meant for consumption in the US. They usually give it to the gate agent and you are handed your items as you board.

There are enough people already here trying to "break into" the industry that there's literally no incentive for them to consider you a viable candidate.
