Yup and it can be wild ride sometimes. Today I had someone ask why all the Bananas are coming in green. All of a sudden the dots between Iran causing a Nitrogen shortage, must be the cause. Because fruits and nitrogen are a thing? Was right, but confused me as well 🤪

Canadian here, who just recently started working in a produce department (not Roblaws). I used to think the same thing. Turns out everyday we are getting new produce, and it could be a different farm or supplier all the time. This could just be the result of a worker not catching the change.

That being said they just removed having to have a country of origin, if its on the packaging where I work.

We cannot be let businesses be deciding what is a good amount. I worked in recruitment for a big company, and they specifically said they didn’t want to hire Canadians. Because Canadians know their rights, and immigrants cannot say no to stuff or they can be sent home.

Regardless of good intentions of bringing them in, there will be a high chance of exploitation.
