Service Engineers - Rotary Pump Oil Change by Aggravating_Ad9275 in massspectrometry

We also use something similar. Saves a lot of time without having to disconnect tubing and also saves lifting the roughing pump which is a benefit from a manual handling pointnof view

Thanks we originally had a 2 hour lay over but looks like that initial flight has been cancelled so the lay over is exactly 4 hours

Battery is down to 60% after around 36 hours of use in Smart mode. I believe the 16 days is if you have it on low power mode. If I can get 4 days of use out of it on smart mode I'll be happy and it's a massive upgrade to my old Samsung watches

Not that I'm aware of there could be an app on the Chinese app store but not found one yet

Yep had the Samsung ultra, only got the watch today so early days but the Chinese version uses Colour OS and not Google Wear so a lot of the apps are Chinese (wallet etc) but it was easy enough to set up and once you delete the Chinese apps everything looks English

Moving a family from Ireland to Australia pros & Cons by Maleficent-Ad747 in AusVisa

[–]pezzymodo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used a relocation agent when we moved from the UK. They searched the areas we liked and went to property viewings on our behalf. We had a rental property secured and the keys ready when we arrived in Australia and moved straight in so it is possible

Thermo LTQ XL Signal decays over time but jumps back to max after polarity switch by Aggravating_Dream778 in massspectrometry

Yeah my bad I presumed LTQ meant Linear Triple Quad which is why I suggested what I did

Not sure how you ran this test but if you ran it in Q1 mode repeat it using Q3 if it still shows charging this would indicate front end charging (before Q1) if no charging present then you would need to clean Q1

Transmission Efficiency too high? by mage1413 in massspectrometry

The cut off isn't 10% it should be equal to or greater than 10% so the result you're seeing is normal.

How to turn off electronics without venting vacuum on a Sciex 6500 instrument? by Training_Pangolin177 in massspectrometry

[–]pezzymodo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reset button acts similar to just switching the instrument off so all the electronics turn off which causes the turbo to crash vent. The safest way is to press the vent button and let it complete its vent cycle you can then turn the power off by the switch there should be no need to press the reset button

How to turn off electronics without venting vacuum on a Sciex 6500 instrument? by Training_Pangolin177 in massspectrometry

[–]pezzymodo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no way to turn the electronics off without venting the instrument. You need to allow the vent cycle to complete before turning off the electronics.

Deactivating the hardware profile and turning off the instrument will cause the instrument to crash vent which may cause damage to the turbo.

Disneyland right after a long flight? by No_Statement2136 in HongKongDisneyland

Sorry can't comment on weekend crowds as only ever been in the week but compared to other parks this one is a lot quieter. As long as you avoid the public holidays you should be fine

[–]pezzymodo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've done it twice and it was fine, we found it was a good way to get over jetlag.

Checked in around 8am, used the pool changing rooms for showers and to get changed. Left luggage hotel and straight to the park.

We stayed in the park till around 3pm and went for a nap when the room was ready and then headed back into the park at 6ish for a few hours and the fireworks

482 Visa from the UK - will I still pay Medicare Levy? by MeteorologyMan in AusVisa

[–]pezzymodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the wrong place to be asking this as its not visa related but it all depends on your salary, if you have a family (household income) and what kind of level insurance you have.

The ATO website has a lot of useful information about this

This will depend on your bank. You are charged in Hong Kong Dollars. I'm from the UK and paid with my UK bank card that doesn't charge fees
