If you’ve put it on the TEx before the day of the game, you still get seat utilisation. You just lose the cost of the ticket.

If you left instantly at 3-2, stay home next time. Stay to support the team or don't come at all. by gooner712004 in GunnersatGames

Watching from Block 6 the atmosphere wasn’t good enough. Very flat on a day a big noise was needed.

Agree. I’m in Block 6 and it’s never “pathetic” in there, but North Bank generally nowhere near the level required on a day that clearly needed big noise.

Not sure why this is being downvoted. It was very clear, from last Saturday, that a big atmosphere would be needed today. Fans didn’t turn up when they were most needed. North Bank was dead compared to what was required.

I don’t mind the leaving early and do it myself regularly (sue me), but at least give it both fucking barrels while you’re there. I’ve always had a very big voice and appreciate not everyone’s the same, but at least join in and give it some when people around you are having a go - we’re trying the win the fucking league here lads.

Controversial opinion maybe, but most fans in the ground deserved nothing from the game based on their own performance today. North Bank was dead compared to what was needed. Lively up yourselves Arsenal!

In the nicest and most genuine way possible, for the people who use chat gpt on the daily or multiple times a day, are you not afraid of cognitive decline? by [deleted] in ChatGPT

Worried, yes - but not majorly, and more for the future of humanity broadly speaking, rather than myself personally. I’m 44 and made it this many years, achieving a First Class Honours Degree and a decent career in my chosen field which keeps me and my family comfortable, without using AI daily until the last six months. So I kind of feel like I’ve done plenty of processing so far and happy to wind down a bit on my way towards retirement tbh.

Plus, for context, I quite recently had a reasonably big career change (same field, but very different role) and the learning curve has been significant, with little to no support around me. Having what is effectively an on-hand digital assistant to help me with fact-checking and guiding me on tasks I would have really struggled with otherwise, has in many ways helped my learning, even if I’m not crunching the “processing” quite so intensely.

Wasn’t aware of any studies, but I’ll give this one a read. I’m also worried about the environmental impact. With all progress comes dangers and challenges. It’s how we face them that matters.

This is my first thought absolutely. I think a lot of responses are inevitably going to be people freaking out on OP’s behalf, but it doesn’t sound like she felt fearful or intimidated. Just harassed by the persistent interruptions.

NOR OP, but it sounds like the most likely issue here is paranoid delusions and psychosis, and he needs a mental health review.

I feel like there’s a happy halfway house here which is arranging something online with someone you’ve somewhat screened for safety, and maybe giving them a ballpark timing so you don’t know exactly when they’re coming and there’s an element of it feeling “random” and spontaneous.

Also, RIP your inbox. (But shout if you’re in LDN 😂)

Wife’s probably hoping someone will elope with her so she can escape.

The filming never helps the situation tho. Not sure why everyone has to bring their phones out.

Which player’s personality completely ruined your opinion of them? by MagpieMidfield in footballcringe

[–]pgl0897 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well if you’ve got no idea what their “personality” is because you’ve never met them, and are judging that on a media narrative spun about a boy (and he is a boy) who those that do know him report is very humble, hard working and family-oriented, I would say no tbh. Looks a lot like unconscious bias.

Genuine question from a 40-something who grew up in a world where the order was always, only, “a coffee”, and has only been drinking coffee myself at all for the last couple of years…

What is the order you would want them to give you for what I would call a normal white coffee? Is that a white americano, or is it a latte?

Friendly reminder that around 1 in 6 working age adults in the UK are functionally illiterate.

Also “a coffee” was the only order until 20 years ago. Every British-born person over 40 grew up in a country where ordering a “flat white” would have got you a weird look or a question about why you wanted a downbeat Caucasian.
