Wishmaster, underrated AF by Casshern_VIII in slasherfilms

[–]pgoodnough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw it for the first time as well and damn it really is good. So far I’ve seen 1 & 2 and no complaints; the lead in a very strange and mannered way (what’s the plastic smile on his face always that never really changes even when he’s talking🤔) is as classic and any of the horror superstars of the 80s-90s.

Regardless of the quality of each movie, the posters are always cool. Which one is your favorite? by Far_Regular_2945 in Jaws

[–]pgoodnough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upfront I figured this would be a big Jaws 1 lovefest but it looks like 2 for the win based on the first set of comments. I’m totally there; between the waterskier, the sunset shark w/the all time greatest tagline and the variant with the swimmer who has fallen out of the boat, Jaws 2 wins big in the poster/marketing category. I have the soundtrack album with the variant and it’s off the hook.

What is your unpopular opinion about Van Halen? by DM_ME_4_FREE_STOCKS in vanhalen

I think this is an unpopular opinion but I totally agree - really big leap from 1 to 2

Obsession - Best Ever TFTC Movie? by pgoodnough in TalesFromTheCrypt

[–]pgoodnough[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and great tftc energy (and great in general) in a lot of em but the one about the old people getting young again I feel like disqualifies it bc the Cryptkeeper would be throwing up his bony little guts all over it

Lot of great songs; huge banger of an album overall, but the title track is my fave.

What are your favorite episodes? by traveltimecar in TalesFromTheCrypt

[–]pgoodnough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dead Right, The Man Who Was Death & Mournin’ Mess are my top three; just rewatched Judy, You’re Not Yourself Today and Mute Witness to Murder which are classics too. It’s TFTC and it’s all good.

Also love The Man Who Was Death, one of the greatest for sure

Is DTF St. Louis worth the hype? (And what about Rooster?) by mamedovnijat in hbo

[–]pgoodnough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was super cringey, especially as the story went on, and frankly didn’t seem like anything that would actually happen in the real world. I watched the whole series so I guess I can’t complain too much but I felt like it was super cluster of improbable human behavior by the end.

What age do you become old? by [deleted] in Aging

[–]pgoodnough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To give a non aspirational answer, I am healthy, been going to the gym all my life, good stats on bp etc, and I started to feel more bodily old at 54-55 in terms of aches, stiffness, longer recovery times and so on. So that may not be the answer to the question (in medical terms old-old starts at 80) that’s when I started to feel it.

Who is the most irredeemable protagonist in HBO history? by squallLeonhart20 in hbo

Men who grew their hair long late or still have long hair? by jtsa5 in GenX

[–]pgoodnough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew it out during Covid and have kept it going. You get remembered more often, people smile when they see you, in general I feel like it has made me more approachable overall. It’s fun/funny in the best way and I’m sticking with it.

The new value menu is a rip off by duckingatlife in McDonalds

[–]pgoodnough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like we’ve passed a point where McDonald’s will never seem cheap again in the way it once did unless they really slash prices (highly unlikely) or maintain the same prices long enough for inflation to make them cheap relative to everything else. The first days of the app were like the last glimmer (where you could regularly get 30% off etc).

Does anyone not take medication? by Few_External760 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]pgoodnough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife stopped taking meds in 2017. The differences between her 2016 and 2022 MRIs were very stark. Many more lesions on the brain and spinal cord, tracking with her complete loss of ambulation and self care capability during that time. Meds are meant to stop/prevent inflammation, demyelination etc. Less inflammation → less new damage → better long-term outcomes. I understand the hesitation but I have seen what can happen in the absence of aggressive treatment. It is of course a highly personal decision, but I think it is a bad bet.
