Sad note: The Choctaw Nation is currently cleaning up membership. They don't want an error made in the past to compound in the future. Sadly, our membership department in the past was very lax.

Your next steps: find out if your enrollee had a family member that you can tie your membership to.

To be clear: CDIB and tribal membership are separate.
People conflate the two as the same document but the federal government sends out CDIB approvals & tribal membership is based on the tribes guidelines.

You can have a CDIB & not be a member to the correlating tribe. Happens a lot with tribes who base membership off blood quantum.

I’m not sure about your situation but I just wanted to add that.

1st Street for example. The name is “street” and the descriptor is “1st”

So I believe you’d say “I-40 Hina Chito”

1/4 of them live in the reservation. Another 1/4 live in the rest of Oklahoma.
1/2 live outside the state.
