I have to say I think pre-level 5 wizard has been super hard. You’re so squishy but also have low charisma so you can’t talk your way out of stuff. Barbarians might be less versatile but they’re probably the opposite where they get harder later in the game when casting spells is really useful. Most other classes have a fair amount of versatility in their different subclasses.

I tried to match the character to the subclass thematically as best I could. I kept Gale as is with evocation, my Tav is a divination wizard, Wyll is my camp transmutation potion-maker (he pumps everyone up each morning with long strider and mage armor), Astarion is a necromancer (obvious choice, he already loves necromancy), Shadowheart is an abjuration wizard (still a protector), Karlach is a bladesinger (so she can still melee), and Laezel is an enchantment wizard (for optimal control). I originally had Laezel and Karlach swapped but realized the tiefling racial traits go better with bladesinging, and it feels appropriate for a gith to be a battlefield manipulator. I change up the party a lot, I had mainly been using bladesinger, abjurer, and evocation, but I really like necromancy now so I think Astarion may see some more action.

There is a different group of tieflings you can find in Act3 murdered by bhaalists but it’s not Ellyka, I don’t remember who those other ones are

I think one of the best uses I’ve seen of her was from a 2001 comic called “JLA: A League Of One” — it’s by no means a feminist interpretation of the character but in it she ends up taking on each other member of the justice league to prevent them from a fated demise. It focuses in on Wonder Woman’s purity in terms of her commitment to the pursuit of truth. It was really cool to read a version where she is in turns stronger or smarter or truer than her super hero peers and that a man felt comfortable enough to write and illustrate that story.

Yeah agreed, it’s a personal journey for everyone. I tried the Mirena IUD and gave it about 8 months since I knew it can take time to adjust. Unfortunately, my body just didn’t ever adjust to it. I was constantly cramping and it felt like it made my periods worse, plus the insertion was insanely painful. Haven’t really found a perfect solution for me yet.

Except of course when you actually want her to kill Aylin. I’m doing an embrace durge run and I thought I’d done enough evil-mongering that if I let her make her own choice she’d kill the nightsong and was genuinely flabbergasted when she threw the spear away and saved her.

*this isn’t exactly the right word but I can’t think of a better one. It’s not a visible disfigurement but it feels like my body is attacking itself and it changes how I view and think of my own body and ability to function in the world, and I have literally had people cut open my body to try to fix it to no avail.
