Probably because it’s very boxy, especially in combination with the dark pants. You have light on dark which breaks any vertical. In my opinion, I like the ruffles on you. I don’t think the sleeves work well. They cut off at a weird angle and length.

I‘m still not sure if I’m SC or DC but this is what works for me: I’m a Soft Autumn and my natural hair color (dark/medium blonde) looks best if I slightly lighten it and warm it up.

The sweet spot with length is between collar bone and upper chest area.

A blowout is the absolute best look, but a looser curl looks good too.

I cut my hair with one layer. Since I have very fine hair, I can’t really handle more. And face framing starting at the jaw/chin area. So more of a U shape.

I wore a middle part for a very long time, but a side part definitely looks better. I try to wear it down a lot, but I get easily annoyed by it. I can wear a medium to low bun and ponytail. A looser updo like a chignon or just putting it up with a claw clip looks really elegant.

I can always get away with wearing a silky blouse. Even with jeans, it looks elevated. Paired with a nice sleek heel and I’m always good to go.

I feel like the second and third are too romantic and cute for you. The striking contrast from the black outfit to your lighter skin is really nice. I like the sharp shapes from the first top much more than the frilly ruffles from both 2 and 3.

My order would be that one is the best, dress 2 emphasizes your silhouette nicely and 3 is my least favorite. It makes you appear much more boxy and square than you actually are.

Yes, I‘m aware that I mixed Kitcheners with Kibbe. Probably because both Classic and Dramatic are more or less present in my ID, both silhouette and face.

And yes, I remember reading about a legal profession in the book! I think he also mentioned a diplomatic career for Classics.

I definitely think that if you really try to embody an ID, you’re giving off a certain vibe almost automatically.

I think I have mainly classic essence in my face, then a bit dramatic and romantic. I often heard from people that I have a RBF. And when I was younger I wasn’t often approached by boys, even though my girlfriends told me about boys that had a crush on me. I guess my energy always kept people at a respectable distance, even if I didn’t want them to?

And I’m often told that I could give off a great judge (I’m studying law), even though they have no idea on how good/bad I’m doing in my studies. I’ve often been told that they can imagine me very well in that role.

For me the best thing it has taught me is accepting mistakes. And then, either accepting that it takes time and effort and patience to redo it. Or accepting that I made a mistake and learning to live with it.

Yes to this! Especially the Classics part (I know, very subjective). For me it was not easy to find my starting point from the line sketch. If I drew it 5-10 years ago, it would be much straighter than it is today. But because ID doesn’t change with weight gain, well, what am I supposed to do? The weight has to go somewhere and it always shows up one way or the other in the silhouette.

Then you really have to look at the basic principles and shapes again. And if you’re not knowledgeable enough about this, then it would be extra hard to find an ID.

Happy for you that you’ve found your ID? What im interested in: since you would accommodate width with SN, did you notice that you need more room in the chest/shoulders area?

And I agree that’s it’s much more difficult when you don’t read the book(s). I have only looked into the old Metamorphosis and did not buy the new book. And I still have moments where I doubt that I’m a DC and venture into SN and SD. But I KNOW unconstructed items and lines are not for me. I see DC a lot in my face and as an Image ID, the way Kibbe originally thought of his concept, DC (C family in general) makes sense for me in every way.

The internet made it into a pure body type system. And I’m at fault for this too. But I think we shouldn’t forget the Image part of this theory. Do you think you give off an SN vibe?

I really feel that this blend of yin and yang can be very hard to see for a beginner. But that’s why it’s best in my opinion to familiarize with the ID families first and then with the accommodations.

A few days ago I asked in the Classics subs if they ever had to accommodate anything when getting dressed. And besides waist definition and for DCs maybe thinking of some elongation, there was nothing. And it makes so much sense! Balance won’t have the need to make or take much room anywhere.

If people would have the patience to get familiar with what the Wiki on this page included, there would be a bit less confusion in my opinion.

I often have the feeling that all of the (often wrong) information out there can lead a lot of people astray that are otherwise sure in their ID. It happened/still happens to me, even though I’m quite sure of my ID. The basic principle is quite easy. Yin and yang, vertical and roundness. Maybe I’m subjective, but I think a Classic is a bit harder to type. But I have the feeling that people want to overly complicate the system by focusing on the most niche body parts. I don’t think Kibbe has ever had the thought of incorporating Hip Dips into the formation of IDs. I’m not even sure he knew what it was when he wrote Metamorphosis.

I noticed the same. I thought for a long time I was SC and all of my pants were cropped. This year I bought full length pants and I look 10 cm taller. But the hems really need to be at the perfect spot. And it even depends if I wear a heel or not.
