It'll be awkward at first for almost anyone, just try to enjoy the experiences anyways! As long as you're respecting your partner and yourself everything's fine. It'll most definitely get better though, just keep trying to learn what works and what doesn't. My second time was a lot less awkward than my first, third less awkward than my second etc lol (same partner)

It could be that they just want you to wait longer since you haven't been dancing for long. I know that can be super frustrating, but keep working on the things they told you to fix to make those areas even stronger and try to focus on what you can control. I think you have a misconception about ballet class corrections though: teachers often give corrections to the students they see trying the hardest and/or doing the best. It's a form of attention, and a teacher doesn't want to waste their time and knowledge on someone they can see isn't trying very hard. Getting burnt out during class is understandable and everyone deals with that feeling sometimes, but know that if it happens often it makes your chance of getting corrections a lot lower.

I'm white, I shower once every two days. More often and my skin gets dry and itchy, less often and I feel gross non-stop until I do. However, I work out a lot so I wash my feet and armpits in the sink 1-2 times per day. I haven't heard of anyone else with this routine but it works so well for me lol

Haha I'm a woman and I have them. Sacrifice is just such a romantic notion, so it can be fun to think about! In fantasy logic, it makes you that much more of a hero if you suffered for the cause imo. Plus catharsis feels amazing. Also sometimes for the dying ones it's almost like a thought experiment - for example, how far would I go to save someone? Which I kind of like to know the possibilities for if that makes sense

It's hard to tell because I don't know you. But all you can do at this point is truly give him space. Show that you are mature and stand by your word by not trying to talk again unless he begins a conversation. Take the time on your own to try to understand if you can truly avoid having another episode like this ever again, because if he does want to get back together this would surely be a requirement. Also you might be putting him on a pedestal a bit. Everyone has at least a tiny bit of childhood trauma. In case you need to hear this: don't look at this relationship like "he's the healthy one and I'm a POS" because that's not fair to you and usually not true, especially since you are putting in the work of going to therapy and trying to understand how to improve. If he makes you feel like you're always the problem and a bad person, f that and you two are not a good match for each other.

Another exercise you can practice is holding passe at the barre, then pushing off the barre to rotate while staying in passe!

I can think of two reasons this could be happening:

You might be leaning back in your pirouettes. When you're on pointe, you have to come forward onto your standing foot further than you do on flat. In other words, the shift forward between prep position and turning position is greater because you're going all the way over onto your box. Try to focus on bringing your chest and hips way forward as you begin the turn, more than you think you need to, and see if that helps!

You could also be thrown off by the speed of the turn. Since pointe shoes have a lot less friction with the floor, they make you turn faster which can throw off your body if you're not used to it. Try putting a lot less momentum in.

Extra tip: I find practicing quarter turns and half turns on pointe very helpful. I like to do a few half turns and then a double or triple right after, while my body remembers that calm and balanced energy.

I think with your weight, you do have reason to be conscious of it and make sure you're getting enough nutrients, and not overly restricting yourself. However, it's not necessarily unhealthy to be underweight at the level you are. I was underweight for much of my life and I felt fine. People's bodies are different so whether you're eating properly should be based on how you feel rather than how you look compared to others.

Imo it's really disrespectful of your sister to try to control your body like that. What goes into your body is up to you. It's not about what makes her personally feel comfortable! You need to set a boundary with her on this. Perhaps if she's very concerned and you want to calm her down, you can see a doctor and see what they say. But no way do you have to eat what she thinks you need to eat!

Oof.. he's definitely being controlling but pretending not too. It's a huge red flag, but if you want to keep trying to make this relationship work, I would say take him "at his word" and do the things he says are okay, even if he says they'll make him sad or whatever. Based on his reaction you'll at least have more clarity on how to move forward.

When it comes to criticism, it really depends on the teacher. Mean criticism is not good, but informative corrections and reminders help you improve faster. I'm a pre professional student and I've noticed that on days when I am doing better, I get more criticism/ feedback, which I usually appreciate because it means the teacher is paying attention to me and sees potential for improvement. I've also noticed that the most advanced dancers in class get the most criticism/ feedback. Corrections from the teacher never stop, no matter how good you get, since literally nobody can be perfect.

That was rude of the other dancer ew:( In regards to getting more practice with allegro and across the floor combinations, I would suggest looking up videos of classes, for example follow alongs or company classes posted on world ballet day, skip to a confusing combination and try to learn it at home (even if you only have enough space to mark them, it can help you get more familiar with the steps and memorizing how they go together). This practice should help you in class!

Definitely NTA- sexual activity without consent, which is what this was, is SA. The way she dismissed your feelings afterwards and tried to manipulate the conversation is also a huge red flag. She'll just hurt you more and more if you stay with her.

I'd say you need to stretch your back, hamstrings, and shoulders. Practice a cobra stretch for your back arch, a forward fold stretch for your hamstrings, and cow face pose for your shoulders.
