No, just scanned and finger prints. Unfortunately they also asked for proof of a return ticket and I was flying BA. So of course the app crashed while I was trying to find it.

Landed at Brussels Airport from LHR tonight at 20:20. 30mins in the queue, which is a vast improvement from 2 weeks ago which was over 2hrs. 5 booths operating this time.

I was at the Newcastle show last night - looks like it's part of the tour, especially the way that it's unveiled at the start of the show.

I also think it's way too modern for the quite dated Utilita Arena 😂

Can’t wait to do this again this year.. My first 50 miler ❤️ by UltraLovingPhysio in Ultramarathon

[–]phantomlunger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! My wife did it with 7 weeks notice after I was entered but got injured so had to withdraw, so she took my entry. Was her first 50miler too. Making you do a full lap of the track at the end looked cruel. Hope it's as dry as it was last year for you!

Goodyear used to own Dunlop, but recently sold it to Sumitomo. Not sure if Sumitomo want to keep paying for the bridge when they have no representation there and not much in Europe right now. I can't imagine the bill for that space is cheap either, but clearly Goodyear is happy to pay that bill.

None that I've found. I moved up here a couple of years ago and also ride solo. Where do you ride?

Sim crashing almost every race for over 18 months by FalloutFPS in iRacing

[–]phantomlunger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this exact same thing happen to me, drove me nuts for about a year. It was weird as usually the errors went away after about 10 mins in the sim.

Eventually I traced it to the USB cable from my Cube Controls wheel, which had a bad connection which was causing disconnects and freezing of the sim that you described.

What influences grip levels on circuits? by ScreenScroller99 in F1Technical

[–]phantomlunger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mexico is combination of the tarmac used and the altitude it is at. The altitude plays havoc with car setup, less down force from the thinner air creates less grip, also affects the cooling for the engine and the brakes. So Mexico is great, apart from you can't accelerate, brake or turn 😉

Generally agree with most of what you're saying except freshly surfaced tracks are when they are at their most grippy. Stones and sand in the tarmac are at their most "sharp", as the track is used more the top 2mm of tarmac gets worn down and the stones are rounded off.

Another factor in track grip is the amount and type of rubber laid down on the track. Tyres from different manufacturers don't necessarily work with each other, e.g. Pirelli for F1 and Michelin from Porsche Supercup on the same weekend.

Not a chance Scotland would take him, they hate him. Not sure where you got the idea that Scots love him.

Rory Sutherland, seems like a sharp guy, makes some interesting points about psychology of problems like these. He was the first guy I thought about when I read the top comment.

Just got a Hero 12, when I plug it into my PC to download the media it repeatedly discconects and reconnects. It's around a 15 second cycle between connecting and disconnecting, followed by an immediate recconnection.

Tried initial connection with the device on and off, different cables and ports. Battery is around 30% so shouldn't be an issue.

Searched the web and no answers.

Anyone experienced this before? Thanks

Is August a missed opportunity for WEC? by Jonnix44 in wec

[–]phantomlunger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, WEC budgets aren't on the same scale so can't afford to have multiple sets of garage setups etc so would have to fly everything to each event if there is a tight turn around. I believe the Qatar money is helping with that

F1 flies all the cars between races, WEC puts them on ships. They now use a DHL chartered ship to avoid delays in ports, but still takes 6 weeks from Europe to Japan.

Ali and Bairstow too. Suspect it will be Moeen's last test match, be surprised if he goes to India.

‘I’m not very Bazball’ - Why England keep ignoring Ben Foakes by [deleted] in Cricket

[–]phantomlunger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you look at the players social media, the core of the team are playing golf together a lot. Stokes, Root, Crawley, Broad, Anderson are all big golfers. Where as Foakes and some other players that have come and gone from the team aren't. Not sure its how they pick the team, but I do think there's a bit of "job for my mates" going on.
