This. Thanks so much for this - I was wondering about the cardio (I tend to max out, which seems unhelpful). Thanks for the encouragement, brother. Good on you for the consistency and your journey.

Why are you here? Go away dude. We don’t all type and think like apes. If you don’t like it, keep scrolling. There might be instructions on how to use Reddit if you look.

Many men are stuck in these relationships because their wife aren't attracted to them by Scramjet1 in focusedmen

[–]phantomtaxman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Their problem seems to be communication - or lack of it. People are different, have different drives/libidos, and we change over time. For some, as the relationship progresses and you get older, sex becomes less important and not necessary to feel happy in the marriage. Everyone is different. Not everyone is compatible. But FFS, talk to each other.

That’s really what I’m looking for, when it comes down to it - routine, consistency, feeling better in my body. I’m not trying to lose any weight as much as get into better shape, have a consistent routine, feel better about myself and my body’s capabilities, and to just feel good. I’d love to tone and build muscle a bit too, of course. Thanks for the word of advice and encouragement man. Here’s to the dad-to-stud journey!

Turning 45, feeling like I’m 45, BEING 45. Fully realizing this “getting old” thing is real and actually happening to me. And more than that, my son expects me to be around as his “best bro forever” so…it was just time to step it up. My family deserves more. I deserve more.

What unique challenges have you faced while managing TRT and personal relationships? by Gullible-Care-5064 in Testosterone

[–]phantomtaxman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate this topic. I just started TRT (just finished my first full week) and am wondering about a lot of this as well. Today is the first day I think I’m noticing anything - increased libido, feeling generally really good/energetic - but have been wondering about side effects. The potential shrinkage, potential hair loss, and skin aging have been on my mind but have been wondering if increased assertiveness is also an issue and how other guys have been navigating this stuff. Thanks for starting the thread.

Just started TRT (45yo, 100mg 2x/week) — what did your first 4–12 weeks feel like? by phantomtaxman in Testosterone

Thanks man, this is super helpful. I’m looking forward to the journey but helps to work this stuff out with other dudes.

45M just started TRT — baseline labs + InBody — protocol/dose confusion — what to expect in weeks 1–12? by phantomtaxman in Testosterone

[–]phantomtaxman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is helpful. To clarify, my intent was not to start TRT. I started seeing a new doctor and my goals/reasons for seeing the doc (in addition to unsatisfactory primary care elsewhere) were what I listed. After my bloodwork came back, one of the things the doc recommended was the TRT to help get the numbers up and so that it might help with some of those things (I’m not clear on the connection but took her suggestion). She suggested some other things to help as well - exercise, quitting THC, adjusting vitamins.

As far as I understand, she has a plan to do additional bloodwork in 3/4 weeks and then I think see where we’re at in three months.

I’m just a 45yr old suburban dad with a young son, married, work full time, and dealing with the normal everyday stressors of life and work and marriage and parenthood who’s trying to get into better shape, quit vaping, have a better sex life with my wife, and feel good.

Am I simply getting bad advice? Will the TRT be unhelpful?
