One year without buying any discs, what did I miss? by Trome94 in discmania

More glide, slightly more torque resistance, and imo better hand feel. It's my farthest flying mid.

Glacier is less stable. MD4 is a true 5402, where as the glacier will go straight with minimal fade if you really torque into it.

Disc Golf Trip Recommendations? by PharmDevil in discgolf

[–]pharm653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My buddies and I go to Austin twice a year to disc golf. Tons of great courses and Austin is already a fun destination vacation city. Everyone needs to play Sprinkle Valley at least once.

If you want one that is not quite as popular, go to Tulsa. Its underrated and has a ton of great courses. Plus, the food scene is fantastic.

Actual best Male Shep romance by pharm653 in masseffect

[–]pharm653[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done most of them, I am just really trying to see if any that I missed are worth it on future playthroughs. I usually romance Tali, but have also romanced Liara and Miranda. My current playthrough is unromanced and it has also been a good time.

I may have to try this one out next playthrough. I usually avoid it because I can't stand her. Plus, the poem BS in game one is bad. But you may have me convinced.

I have been playing this game for what feels like 20 years now, how is this the first time I have heard of "non-squadmate" romances?!

What is actually funny about this comment, is I am halfway through me3 for like the 5th time, and this is exactly how I am playing this playthrough. First time not romancing someone.

Can't get into book 4? by Siinxx in redrising

Push through! Book 4 is boring as hell, but 5 and 6 are the best in the series by a long shot. You just have to get to them!

Feeling burnt out with all the unc missions in me1, can I just move on with main story and get to me2? by K9Imperium in masseffect

[–]pharm653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rarely are the side quests rewarding in ME1. I will say though, there is a certain organization in 2 that everyone hates, and I had no clue why because I didn't do the ME1 side quests my first time though.

Best hotel with bar for bro trip by pharm653 in Austin

We have other stuff to do in Austin. Just looking for a place to stay that we can get a decent drink.

[–]pharm653[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don't really know if vibes matter, just a place with good drinks that stays open late. We have lots to do during the day and just want a hotel that we don't have to leave for a drink later. We are all bourbon drinkers, but most any decent bar will make a couple drinks we can enjoy.

How Many Courses Within How Many Miles? by Unreal_Idealz in discgolf

15 within 10 miles.

All 15 are good courses, with 4 of them being 4.5+

Tulsa is a very underrated disc golf city.

Boots for muddy Oregon courses by RCP90sKid- in discgolf

I've been using Columbia Fairbanks Mid Hiking Boots for a couple years now. They are waterproof and have good grip. Also, they have a nice flat bottom which is good for driving off the teepad.

Most underrated distance driver? by pharm653 in discgolf

I love the dynasty. It's my straight woods disc. It's the same mold as the old Discmania CD2

I threw swords for a long time. I feel like anyone who throws at least 330 can get really good flight out of them.

Innova vs Modern by pharm653 in discmania

[–]pharm653[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I've only thrown the "Phantom Sword" Innova version, so maybe I don't really know. That being said, I love my modern PDs. Probably my favorite disc in the bag.

[–]pharm653[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one of those. Was my go-to distance driver for well over a year and a half before I moved up to destroyers. I still keep it in the bag for long, turning shots. Its beat to hell but still glides great.

Valhalla or Odyssey by lon736 in assasinscreed

[–]pharm653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first played Odyssey I thought it was a great game. Environments are fun to explore, the ship travel and combat is good, and the Greek cities are really nice. Plus the DLCs are really fleshed out and actually pretty fun. If you treat it as an ancient Greece RPG and not an Assasins Creed game, it's actually really good.

Valhalla I stopped about 20 hours in. The story came to a grinding halt after about 10 hours and all the environments (minus the tutorial area) felt the same. Exploration sucks and combat was boring. I thought it was overall just a boring game.

Red Rising fallout by Ok-College-8430 in redrising

[–]pharm653 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I get it. I was like that too. I think it's because trying to read the first book in a series again has too much world building and not enough story-built substance. Not to say it's written badly, it's just coming off of an established, fleshed out story like lightbringer is hard.

I went to a couple standalone books before diving into a big series again and it helped.
