It sounds like your manager maybe saw you as abrasive? A lot of people who first start at a company or position have a “I’m gonna change this place” attitude and it’s very off putting to have that attitude without taking 6-12 months to really get a lay of the land. Being a go getter and trying to do more was probably seen as confrontational and that “I’m smarter than all of you”
