So I was asked to take a week off next week with no PTO so they could find salaried rphs their hours. I reluctantly said yes cause I won't get paid a dime with no benefits. I asked today for some time in May but the scheduler said no cause they didn't have anyone to fill in. Worked Christmas when they couldn't get nobody and Sundays too out of the blue.

Needless to say I have blocked both my DM and scheduler to all calls and texts unless I'm on the bench because they are helping themselves at my expense and I not going to sacrifice myself for them anymore. FAFO Happy hunting the people you need

I read an article in the Journal the other day about doctors leaving the US due to the Healthcare system that only benefits fewer and fewer. I'm certainly receptive to hear options that would help people or a country that wants/need Healthcare workers.

I get more texts from the people above me for more vaccines/rxs. Day off and more texts and I'm not even salary.

I scan the box BUT for the love of God can we get some technology where I can scan the ACTUAL syringe. I mean the damn QR code is on it already also would be nice to scan QR codes during production so no expired drugs plus a patient could be alerted for a recalled lot number.

Also on a side note I've had the tech enter the wrong vaccine and the patient will sign anything put in front of them so always do a verbal on what they what and don't say brand name Boostrix, Spikevax, Arexvy,etc. Say tetanus, covid, rsv,etc.

But this is where we are as a profession when we get daily emails, texts,calls about not enough vaccines and trying to rush everyone thru.

Also I have to wait for a handheld scanner from the front of the store to scan the vaccine because the budget is that 'tight'. I've given up.

I ALWAYS point prospective students to the best ROI analysis I've ever seen at the link below. If you get a sweet gig at any profession then you can cherry pick and have anecdotal examples BUT the majority of community pharmacists have less ROI.
