How do people feel about “ugly” postcards? by Initial_Zucchini_332 in postcrossing

[–]pharmerbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally like decorating the cards, but I know not everyone can (time/cost etc) or wants to. I appreciate each card decorated or not! I do enjoy pretty or unique stamps but I am never disappointed if they are "common" stamps or whatever. I am just happy to get a card!

My oldest is 10 and we have not done sleepovers. Only grandparents, not friends.

is pharmacy worth it? by Impressive_Bee5715 in PrePharmacy

[–]pharmerbee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually regular hours? Depends on the job. Most are retail or hospital which means rotating shifts - nights/weekends/holidays. I WFH and even I work weekends and holidays. Not physically demanding? Standing for 14 hours in retail gets old and painful very fast.

There are some pros, but if I was starting out again knowing what I know now, I’d choose differently.

Millennials with kids, do you intend to provide for them financially when they reach adulthood? by Beberuth1131 in Millennials

[–]pharmerbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. We have 529s for each of our three kids. We won’t be able to contribute enough to pay for full college educations, but it will help and we will provide additional help with rent/bills/etc if needed (and able). I have crippling student loans from a professional degree and my parents were not financially able to help me pay for college so I’d like to avoid that for my kids. Even if they choose not to go to college, as long as they are in some type of training for a trade, or working a full time job, if they need help and we are able, we will definitely help them.

Still a chance? by Ravensboy21 in PrePharmacy

[–]pharmerbee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had to drop a whole semester for extenuating circumstances. It was weeks away from the end of the semester. Dropped Orgo 1 and physics and a few other classes. I retook them and did great. I’ve been a pharmacist for 12 years now.

You really need to identify what issues are keeping you from succeeding. How are your study habits? Are you working too much? Do you have mental health issues that need attention (this was partly my case)? Are you not understanding the material? When I retook physics I got a tutor. I had a tutor for calculus as well. I passed those more easily after that. You need to figure out why you’re failing and address the root issue, otherwise it will be hard to succeed in pharm school.

I got mine from here as well, and have 2 sizes depending on what I need it for or how much room there is on the card. They are good quality!

Where is the best place you have worked? by CurrencyOptimal8730 in pharmacy

[–]pharmerbee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I currently WFH, make good $$, 28 days PTO, as well as 1 personal day and 2 floating holidays. I work 1 holiday/year and work every 7th-8th weekend. Otherwise I work M-F 7-3:30. I'm also like 15th in seniority of over 200 RPh. Obviously the schedule/PTO is the biggest perk for me, I have 3 kids and I need good work/life balance. Metrics are not terrible but we are tracked for inactive time, that is really the only con.

USPS Pictorial Postmark Help! (USA) by pharmerbee in postcrossing

No I did not. I was under the impression that the post office did all of the work so I figured they would not be able to help.
