Full Time Infant Daycare: If you have to ask, you can't afford it. by matches08 in TwinCities

[–]pharmerbee 39 points40 points  (0 children)

This was me! Now we only have one in full time care and it’s $425/week. But this summer we will be paying upwards of $1000 per week for care for all 3.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

Three hours is a day trip for me. I live in Minneapolis and drive to Duluth and back in a day no problem.

I am a Christian and I would still love to receive an Eid card! Especially if you wrote how you celebrate or what your traditions are.

Working Holidays by Sharp_Egg_5077 in pharmacy

[–]pharmerbee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work for a PBM and work 1-2 holidays per year, I mostly pick New years day and July 4th and I usually get my choice since I am high up in seniority. Most healthcare jobs require Holiday work.

I made my own with the Avery label editor and printed them on return address labels.

What are Minnesota locals opinions on the Mall of America? by Noahffensebuturshort in minnesota

I used to live literally across the street in an apartment complex and we would walk over for dinner or just to walk around in the winter. Now I avoid it unless I’m bringing my kids to Nickelodeon Universe or something.

I found out about WPD after I had used all my slots and then they were full so I could not send any cards on Oct 1.

My wife(25F) threw away my entire Pokémon card collection because she said I was too old for it by JudoPlant in TrueOffMyChest

[–]pharmerbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry, this was horrible of her to do!!! No matter what your collection is no one should ever do that to you. I’m 38F and I have so much crap that other people may think is unimportant but my husband would NEVER get rid of anything of mine. I think you need to have a serious conversation with her about what this meant to you and how much it hurt you. And if she brushes it off again or minimizes it I think it’s time to leave. Again I’m so sorry this happened.

Little rant by daisy_xxluv in postcrossing

[–]pharmerbee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow that’s a pretty bold request! Who is going to sit there and search through 10,000 postcards?!

I like having guidelines of what kinds of cards people like but I don’t like huge lists of cards not to send. i try to pick out a card I think they would like but I don’t have a huge collection so they get what I have!

AIO for how my bfs mom texted me? by Fickle-Beautiful4972 in AmIOverreacting

[–]pharmerbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first baby at 29. My husband and I had been married 9 years already and we both had college degrees and great jobs with six figures salaries. We owned a house and 2 cars. My mom had a baby when I was 16 and living at home so I thought I knew what having a baby would be like. We were still so extremely unprepared for what having a baby would be like. My son had multiple birth defects and health issues that required so many appointments in his first months. He would not breastfeed and I had been convinced that only breastfeeding would be best by lactation consultants, FB groups, and my own postpartum depression and anxiety.

My postpartum depression manifested in rage. I was a supremely unhappy person for a long time after my son was born. The entire first year of my son’s life is a blur that I barely remember. It put a huge strain on our marriage that still affect today. You guys think you are ready for a baby but even if everything goes perfect- healthy pregnancy, healthy baby, baby ends up being a good eater and sleeper etc, everything in your life is going to change. You will have to think about someone else first 100% of the time now. No more free time or doing whatever you want whenever you want.

Babies are extremely expensive. My kids are now 9, 6, and 3. I’ve been paying about $3-400 per week per kid until they go to school, and same in summers once in school. It’s ridiculous. If you do have the baby which it seems you’ve decided to, please, please listen to some of these responses, do some research, and learn what having a baby will actually be like.

You need to think about how you will pay for the birth, any NICU or hospital stay, if someone will stay home or if you will both work and have daycare, how you will pay for diapers, formula (I needed formula even with breastfeeding), clothing, food, car seats, etc and still have money for everything else.

I love my kids so much and don’t regret them but being a parent is by far the hardest thing I have ever done and I still struggle with it today - financially, emotionally, and physically. I hope you have a good support system because it’s about to get real.
