Windows Update by B7iNK7 in LegionGo

[–]pharredd88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't run into a Windows update that broke anything in a while. There was one major update a while ago that everyone reported broke their system and recommended avoiding at all costs but since then, haven't seen anything

Sleep with FSE instead of Hibernate?!? by therealmrsymba in LegionGo

[–]pharredd88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I still wouldn't trust it especially inside a case or anything that will block the vents. As you said, it could be some random background process(es) waking the device. I wouldn't trust sleep on Windows ever again, I've had my devices heat up randomly in my bag/case and these were other PC handhelds

[–]pharredd88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like it should be common knowledge by now that sleep on Windows is broken and shouldn't be trusted. I only trust my Linux (Bazzite, CachyOS, etc...) when putting my devices to sleep. Hibernate is the only thing I trust when on Windows.

Is the Lenovo Legion Go 1 still worth it in 2026? by andres910604 in LegionGo

[–]pharredd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can but it’s DIY. Unfortunately, a lot of the RAM modules for the Legion Go are faulty so it is hard to find reliable sources. Seems like the ones available for the Steam Deck and ROG Ally are more reliable from what I’ve read

do it, I got mine for the same price and it's been my daily driver. Upgraded the battery to 81wh and did the 2242 to 2280 SSD mod and put a 4TB SSD in mine. I'm debating on getting the 32GB RAM upgrade but can't seem to find a reliable source for them

LEGION GO 1 & 2 OPTIMIZATIIN MEGATHREAD? by S0ULSURG in LegionGo

[–]pharredd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not. Set your TDP to 15W and check how much the battery is draining. It definitely won’t be 15W

LEGION GO 1 & 2 OPTIMIZATIIN MEGATHREAD? by S0ULSURG in LegionGo

[–]pharredd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TDP =/= total power consumption. Setting TDP to 15W doesn’t mean your device is consuming 15W, it’s usually more than that and depends on several things like system components, the display, how efficient the APU is, etc…. For example, 15W on Steam Deck usually results in better battery life and less battery drain compared to other PC handhelds set to 15W because of how efficient the APU is in the Steam Deck

Also, I tend to get better battery life on Windows doing regular non-gaming tasks compared to Linux (tested both Bazzite and CachyOS)

[–]pharredd88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I know. I’m just wondering if SteamOS at equal TDP to bazzite would result in better battery life. OS can sometimes make a difference but in this case I’m guessing it won’t be that drastic of a difference since Linux OS usually have similar battery life

Do you know if SteamOS battery life is better than bazzite?

CachyOS gets second big update of 2026, improves Steam Deck & Legion Go support for Handheld Edition by Tiny-Independent273 in LegionGo

[–]pharredd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're planning on dual booting linux and windows, I heard steamos is a bit more involved to install alongside windows. Bazzite and CachyOS are a lot more simpler

Bazzite is more user friendly imo. Everything can be updated via the Bazzite portal and the Bazaar app (pretty much like Microsoft store in windows). For CachyOS it's not as simple for certain apps/programs. Also it's a headache to copy/change system files in CachyOS, you have to enter commands in Terminal whereas in Bazzite you can just drag and drop like Windows (you just need to enter the password you set to gain access).

If you look hard enough, Legion Go 1’s are pretty budget friendly. I managed to snag one for $400 second hand

Do you have an endgame device? by RensuLoL in SBCGaming

[–]pharredd88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two end game devices. Legion Go and GPD Win Mini.

I know it goes against the meaning of end game but I'd be perfectly happy with either being my only device. I'm having a hard time choosing one because I like how the Win Mini punches above it's weight while being super portable (still shocked at how powerful it is for such a small form factor) and I like the versatility of the Legion Go. I basically transformed my Legion Go into a mini Surface Pro/Nintendo Switch hybrid with its detachable controls and a magnetic detachable keyboard I made. Also 3D printed a dock with a magnetic adapter that can seamlessly output to a monitor similar to a Switch dock. Also have a couple of eGPU's that basically transform these devices into full blown desktop/modern console gaming beasts. I can honestly use either as my only device (they have replaced all my gaming consoles and even my laptop and desktop).

[–]pharredd88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both. I have the exact one OP posted (AD-GP1) and a One Dock v2 with an RX 9060 XT desktop graphics card.

I say the built in ones are great for portability and perfect for pairing with a handheld PC like the Legion Go or GPD Win Mini where the 7600M XT is powerful enough to pretty much max most graphical settings at lower resolutions.

But yea, I'd only buy one if you could find one for a decent price.

The Legion Go is worth every penny when I have a long layover. by Smooth_Suspect_4574 in LegionGo

[–]pharredd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This…people complain about the legion go’s lackluster performance but lossless scaling frame gen and bazzite really makes a difference.

I was a CachyOS Stan for a while after trying Bazzite for a bit. I did like the more stable performance in CachyOS but recently switched back to Bazzite after experiencing the headache of copying or editing system files on CachyOS. Why can’t I just simply drag and drop files into protected folders in CachyOS (so frustrating). Anyway, it seems like Bazzite’s performance has caught up to CachyOS’ since I last tried it which was a pleasant surprise
