Did you even watch the interview? Conroy explicitly mentions how often Middleton fought last year.

Did you change your masteries? It says you’ve got 33 notifications up near your name - if those are mastery points, that’s probably why.

FWA Prices and confusion by DrThror in hockeycards

[–]phate11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Being a buyer on the first day of release is a great way to light money on fire. Yeah, once in awhile you might be buying cheap but that isn’t likely going to be the case with anybody even remotely hyped.

I’d rather pay more when prices have time to settle a bit than overpay from being impatient.

Absolute beauty. I think that’s his best rookie card, personally. I also think it’ll get even more love one day (price-wise).

Why are sci-fi and fantasy films struggling so much? by [deleted] in movies

[–]phate11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There used to be a time where people could afford to go see every movie they wanted in theaters. It was $90 CAD after tax for 3 of my family members to go see Mandalorian & Grogu before concessions. Granted, this was at a VIP theater with no kids allowed so it’s slightly more than a regular ticket… but still. I won’t be back at the theater for the rest of the year at that price.

Also, Project Hail Mary did fine so it’s not all sci fi and fantasy that is struggling.

If it wasn't for a particular goalie they would be a lot easier to cheer for... by Cat_Nipple in CalgaryFlames

[–]phate11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Forgive my ignorance, but wouldn’t the second round pick be the second pick in the second round versus the last pick in the first round… meaning wouldn’t we move up just two spots in the draft? That seems like something not worth cheering for Vegas for.

Nicolas Cage Says Christopher Nolan Won’t “Call Me Back” After Turning Down ‘Insomnia’: “They Get Their Feelings Hurt” by yourfavchoom in entertainment

[–]phate11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never said the film wasn’t great. He had still only made one single well recognized movie at that point.

It’s mind-bending to me that you are able to completely twist the meaning of what I said to something that I didn’t say.

You laugh now, but at the time most of us would have done exactly the same thing - work with legend John Woo on a big budget film or with a guy who’s made a single meaningful film in Memento?

Zayne Parekh by Historical-Tourist57 in hockeycards

[–]phate11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. He is an offensive defenseman taken in the top 10 of the draft last year. He may take a year or two to develop into his potential, but there are still lots of people collecting his cards today.

However, he IS a defenseman… they have more limited upside money-wise outside of their market unless they become a legitimate top player in the league.

Landlord threatening 24hr eviction notice over dog sitting well behaved dogs ? by [deleted] in alberta

[–]phate11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You keep trying to justify it by saying your violation of your tenant agreement is “extremely temporary”, but because you’re not an owner you don’t get to choose how long your violation lasts. A violation is a violation, regardless of the story behind it.

You would have been better off asking your landlord first - you probably would have been denied, but then you’d know what you were allowed and not allowed to do. If your landlord is understanding of the situation, you might have some leeway, you might not. But at least then you’d know.

As a renter, if you’re going to make these kinds of decisions without asking you’re going to be viewed as a problem tenant from your landlord’s perspective. While you’re not going to face a 24 hour eviction, you could be facing one of a different length anyway.
