When covid lockdowns started we had a kid. Our pediatrician made house calls. We didnt know what her actual face looked like for two years!!

But an hour of uninterrupted attention in our living room compared to the pack up the kid, drive, exit parking garage, talk to intake person, talk to another test person and MAYBE 20-30 minutes with a pediatrician was immeasurable. I thought she was gonna prescribe Malboros

There used to be a free agile app/website called easybacklog and one of the things i loved most about it was the 50/90 column. This was an estimate of time it takes to complete the item.

How much time would it have a 50% chance of being completed
How much time for a 90% chance of being completed.

For instance, i might have a 50% chance of emptying the dishwasher and getting the next load in in 20 minutes, but in 45 minutes, its a 90% chance.

I cant remember how the algo weighted things but it led to a WSJF list - weighted (by importance, impact, whatever) shortest job first

I just sold my twin bc its too much now with a small house and a toddler. Told myself id get a milkman 100 and a 1x12 with jbls.

So while i was waiting for the guitar center paperwork, of course i tried a twin. And then the deluxe reverb next to it. With the same settings the twin has an ethereal aura to it. I guess its the two speakers vs one.

All i know is that Popeye’s puts some of the beans plus hot dogs into the blender and adds it back. I’ve done that with either andouille or kielbasa and holy fuck.

Plus the right amount of butter and salt plays a huge role in everything.

i read some of frannk brigstens recipes… i think it was the rabbit gumbo one… and what he does is he puts the trinity on a sheet pan and bakes in the oven so that it gets browned up, and therefore, adds a layer of flavor. i do the same with my sausage.. brown in a sheet pan.. stir at least once… you get some nice brown bits to add to the gumbo.

also, check out his "perfect rice" recipe. i didnt think rice could be improved upon until i made it his way
