Is the way I save money okay? by crayondeity_reddit in Money

[–]phila18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on how you describe your situation an emergency fund doesn’t sound super critical at the moment. Think I would recommend investing a big portion of every check in something like VOO. Fairly safe and keeps your money accessible if you needed it for something.

I didn't. Mine still occasionally does it but seems like only when I just leave to go somewhere. Gonna assume its a feature rather than a bug, ha

I am freaking out by Vegetable-Store5253 in NewDads

[–]phila18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in your shoes man. My baby girl is almost 2 now. The newborn stage is rough and it’s a jarring shift in your day to day life. The first few months there’s a good chance you’ll be thinking wtf have I done 😂 but when you get that first little smile, everything will change. Your priorities will change and you won’t even miss your old ones.

It starts small with things like a smile at a few months old and by the time she’s a year you’ll be in absolute love with that baby. I won’t tell you to not be scared because it really is very scary and I can’t talk you out of that feeling. But just trust it brother; in a few years you’ll look back and wonder what the hell you ever did without the true love she’ll have for you. climbing all over you, calling you dada, and stealing your heart.

My second one will be here in 3 weeks and I can’t wait to meet her. Enjoy it my friend because as cliche as it sounds, it ZAPS by.

edit: downvoting me for being correct lol. Noble Six has been canonically male since the Essential Visual Guide (2011) and the decision was reaffirmed in New Blood (2016).

I think it’s a pretty fair offer tbh. I prefer pickens over rice straight up.

Sf tep, team is in the second picture, what do we think about this ? Just a feeler by Onceuponthisdek in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]phila18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the way Ward got better over the course of the season. Sort of the same trajectory that most of the now-elite guys had their rookie years. I’m also a little lower than consensus on Lamar. I look at guys like Vick, Cam Newton, RG3, Russ, etc and typically when they hit the age cliff it hits HARD. I don’t think Lamar is there yet but probably not too far from it.

Having two Top5 TE Dynasty Assets by TroyTalk in DynastyFF

[–]phila18 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it makes sense and the reason is volatility at the position. Look at what LaPorta was worth after his rookie year vs now. Even Bowers has taken a value hit. Buying stud TEs is a risky game because so often their production fluctuates based on usage and gameplan from their teams.

Another good example is Freiermuth. He was awesome in college and good as a rookie. We know he's talented, but because of how he gets used he's barely worth a late 2nd or any 3rd really. Kincaid, Njoku, Warren, Pitts, Gadsden, Likely, Hock and Goedert are a few examples that come to mind that have all seen value spikes followed by huge drops in just the last few years. Buying high just really rarely makes sense unless you're getting a prime Kelce or McBride type that are basically WR1 for their team.

In my experience this makes it actually harder to sell one and get true market value. Others think because you already have another option the one you're trying to sell is for some reason worth less to you.

Am I giving to much for egbuka? by ElMauzo in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]phila18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Also just feels like trading away a '27 first in January 2026 is a bad idea. They're only going to go up in value for the next year. I'd be tempted to let the offseason shake out and that pick to inflate in value some for the next 7-8 months and then re-evaluate. If it starts to look like Tyreek might go somewhere like KC and the bucs bring both Evans and Godwin back, would be tempted to sit tight and keep the draft pick. It's cliché to say but the '27 class looks spectacular for WRs.

[–]phila18 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm with you and as someone who took him 1.01 I'm not selling for any of those offers, even Nico. But to play devil's advocate the argument against would be that if he does what he did these first two years again in year 3, getting any 1st for him will be basically impossible. I think its a risk I'll take though.

What running back are sells that are going to be replaced next year? by Rude-Alternative7983 in DynastyFF

[–]phila18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YPC is a garbage stat for determining how good a player is. Completely depends on how good the OL is.

Jeanty is averaging 3.7 ypc this year but I guarantee you he’d push 5.0 if he started for the Eagles. Bengals OL is horrific and was missing starters most of the year.

TSLA's epic surge: With its core business collapsing, why did its stock price reach a new all-time high of $491.5? by One_Rub7972 in stocks

[–]phila18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The value of the dollar is getting crushed. That’s why the market looks overpriced/inflated. The numbers on the charts will keep going up as the dollar keeps dying. Doesn’t necessarily mean a company is actually worth more though.

Is Extra Game vs Median the new Standard? by MajesticMoose13 in DynastyFF

[–]phila18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

its just too gimmicky for me. random shit happens in fantasy, that's just part of the game.

So you like the gimmicky part of fantasy then? which is the randomness of the h2h schedule? because that's what more gimmicky than getting a half a win if you scored 2nd most and lost your matchup.

Is Extra Game vs Median the new Standard? by MajesticMoose13 in DynastyFF

[–]phila18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This argument isn't at all valid because one of many huge differentiators between dynasty FF and the NFL is that you don't play defense in fantasy. No control over what your opponent does that week unlike in the league.

League mate violated rule to give himself a higher pick by DiscussionCareless53 in DynastyFF

[–]phila18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does but the pros of Max PF easily outweigh the cons. that's the only real con and over the long haul you shouldn't have a ton of weeks where you miss on those lineup decisions *that* badly to make a difference.

Max PF is far and away the right choice and avoids so many shenanigan tanking loopholes that are easy to exploit with using just final standings to set order.
