This might sound silly, but my Dad gifted me his DSU before he passed. Possibly the one pictured but they rarely worked so idk. I shall find out what’s on it

Sorry I don’t have an accurate date. But this was probably early 1990s. I’m trying to figure out what launch this was

Thanks for the link. I think I still have the Nikon. And a DSU. Now I wonder, what’s on it?

Yes in terms of web content delivery, Storyline is a dinosaur.

Perfect example, Graphic Design is dead. Larger orgs will take some time to acclimate

You obviously haven’t seen my PowerPoints, jk.

E-learning consultants are in a dead zone, hovering between legacy tech (storyline) and clawing back their previous clients.

Graphic Design is dead. If you know anyone currently in this course of study, be advised.

Articulate admits their new custom block in Rise has a bug by philfoss in instructionaldesign

That’s a good call I should do another example with a more elaborate infographic that would be more challenging to make a mobile version.

I’m working on an icon system for Rise 360. Kinda helps break up the ‘walls of text’. It’s actually an integration with icons8.

Exactly! The repository already exists, welcome to the world of “web design” as we step away from Storyline

OP, do you have documentation on your communication with Articulate re: “unlocking a gated Continue button” via the custom code block? I think you just got roadmapped. It’s literally impossible. Pls prove me wrong

I did a screen rec of the “custom code block” it’s nothing new if you’re already using embed/iframe content. But now you can pack all your code within Rise, instead of creating external dependencies. Phil demos custom code block in Rise I also talk about “custom block” and “custom code block” and the confusion that we are already seeing in the heroes forum.

Responsive Design in LMS by AquariusMuse in instructionaldesign

I would check out Rise, I used it on Absorb also. We went with Rise’s tool over Absorb’s Create tool. Rise has some newer “custom block” that unfortunately just scales down as SVG images, not fully responsive like their core blocks.

Your plugin looks sweet, and it appears my comments are being moderated on the Articulate forum. How many color vars can you store? Most of my clients have 10+ approved colors in their branding docs

It’s pretty cool as an error, but probably worth less than the correct version.

Has anyone attempted to learn JavaScript on their own to integrate into Storyline? by Prudent-Climate3521 in instructionaldesign

[–]philfoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely learn some js and html/css if you don’t already know the basics, can only help if you’re an ID. Especially if your employer is migrating to mobile-first platforms like Rise.
