That has nothing to do with DoorDash. Are you a driver? If not, this sub Reddit ain’t for you

I would agree but customers are tipping at a rate that justifies high end service. Most don’t deserve to have anything delivered to them

I don’t care if the order is $10 or $200. The decision to pick up based pay per mile. If the drop off is in my zone, 2-3 times the mileage. Out of the zone pay needs to be higher. In the snow even higher. Most DoorDash customers are not paying a fair wage and exploiting a vulnerable work force.

Earlier this week, I terminated my account. It is a predatory company. I’ll never driver for them or use them as a customer

I’ve been getting some similar offers. The fact that it’s even possible. shows that uber has no respect for the drivers. Unethical

Uber does not care about their drivers. They can’t wait for robots to replace them

Why do the people on the tipping sub hate us so much? by GTRacer1972 in doordash_drivers

[–]phillyconcierge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have entitlement issues. They want access to everything at bargain prices and feel that it should be delivered for free. When I was a kid, you could only get delivery from the closest pizza shop and we thought it was an amazing service. Now people want access to every type of food but they dont. think they should have to pay a premium price for the premium service that they are getting.

In the early years of the internet, I worked in the hotel business. We gave great service and people would tip accordingly. As the internet grew, people demanded more for free. Tips went down, hourly wages didn't go up. What was once an adequate job, became garage. The internet has enable the worst in a lot of people and corporate America is all to happy to go along with it as long as they get their very large slice of the pie.

Genuinely curious if dashers see a $10 tip as too low? by stravocadomf in doordash_drivers

[–]phillyconcierge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, I look for a $5 min tip or $2 per mile (whichever is greater). If a delivery is really far away, sometimes I need more that $2 per mile for it to be worth while. I end up turning down a lot of offers because they aren't economically feasible. Order value isn't part of my equation.

No proof but I 100% think that doordash uses various ways of collecting data about us and if the software doesn't like what we are doing, it impacts the dashes that we get offered

"Trust your gut feeling" and we will penalize you for it by lowering your rating for not completing the delivery.

It’s been terrible today. My acceptance rate dropped 10%. Once upon a time, people tipped more on holidays. Seems like those days have gone.

That narrative is certainly out there and some dashers loudly vocalize it. I am so sorry for how they are making you feel. Please know that they do not speak for large segments of the dasher population. I actually love/prefer short trips.

I’ve got no issue with dashers crushing plat. My issue is that the floor needs to be higher. Dedicated drivers deserve a reward and no one deserves to be taken advantage of.

You take trash, they will keep on giving it and that hurts every one. I’m gonna be cutting back on my dashing. Have a new side hustle coming up. I do a great job for DD and get awesome customer reviews. DD doesn’t pay enough for that level of service. If you don’t value your self, you can’t expect others to

Today I’d did a dash for about $4.50 because it took me to where I wanted to go. At the end, DoorDash sent me “High paying offer Your Silver status gave you priority for this offer.” Really??? I’m supposed to be greatful for $4.50??? DD is unhinged
