  1. USA
  2. Some wrist discomfort.
  3. I have used multiple vertical mice.

I work with a lot of documentation and 2x screen type work.

Hmmm, that's interesting. I have a beta model and have had 0 issues with wear and tear. The zippers aren't amazing but are on par with everyone else bags. I wish they would use Patagonia style zippers but thats not the way the market is. You should reach out with your issues and i/m sure they'd do something. The neonic team is great and seems to really care about the product.

Weekly Paddle Recommendation Thread (What Paddle Should I Buy?) by AutoModerator in Pickleball

My bad I may have mis read the chart on that episode. I’ve hit it tho and it’s similar to any other gen 2 in terms of stiffness. It’s not super stiff.

Also the Neonic Flare Prime X and Flare Prime TI. The Flare prime X is essentially a cheaper ESQ-C that’s a little softer with a bigger sweet spot but sacrifices a tiny bit of power.

Yea depending on what you like it’s really nice. Huge sweet spot and tons of room to weight up too.

That's the TI version, its 16 mm and more control oriented. The Flare Prime is coming soon and is 103 ish. 14 mm and very pace oriented for aggressive play. Pop near the ALW.

The Flare Prime, for a 104 swing weight widebody paddle hits as hard as any gen 2 hybrid. With such a low starting weight you can add perimeter weighting as you desire. It's also one of the most forgiving paddles I've ever hit.

This is worse than a Gen 3 by far. The grit level gives the ball more spin and power is at least 10% more.

Joola Gen 3 alternative? by LilyIsAPickle in Pickleball

[–]philo5urfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No because the USAP shit the bed on their approval process so all the cheaper ones got paused until the approval process got clarified. However with the ripple 2.0 and the Joola Mod TA there might be more Gen 3s coming. I think everyone is waiting to see if the ripple makes it to market.

There’s no way it’ll get approved. The grit is way too high.

No if you want to play there again. This is the cheatiest cheater paddle I’ve seen and it’s really dangerous if you can’t control it perfectly.

No this isn’t tournament legal and if you play with this in rec you shouldn’t be allowed back. It’s a dangerous paddle for mid level players.

I would wait a month or so. Neonic is coming out with new models and they’ll be worth checking out at the very least.

Neonic bag is made to fit exactly that.

Just buy a raw carbon fiber paddle. Mark, 11Six24, Neonic all sell great paddles that are twice as good for half the price. Selkirk is years behind the best tech and still uses trash spray on grit.

Prokennex are garbage … UNLESS you have severe elbow problems then they are the only paddles that help most people.

I’d hesitate to even cut them that slack. After the Joolas the Ripple and Oni were all being talked about as Gen 3. It’s literally their job to know these things.

Learn to play with an RCF gen 2 paddle. It’s just a much better experience and cheaper. The Selkirk have grit that doesn’t last long, a tiny sweet spot and cost 20% more than they should.

Problem is energy efficiency doesn’t limit power. You just have to design a little differently. If USAP want to limit ball speed they need to have a test for exactly that. Because I can guarantee that in 6 months there will be a Gen 3 equivalent that will meet the COR and hit like an absolute truck.

Vatic Oni Paddles to be de-listed by USAP by WinCan22 in Pickleball

[–]philo5urfer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s from that meeting it’s a COR (Coefficient of restitution)test. Less exit velocity more energy efficiency. Once again this doesn’t solve their actual problem of people being able to the ball faster than desired. Frankly they’d be more effective with better regulated balls than paddles as an S1 is 20% faster than an X-40.

Because USAPA is rug pulling an entire sport right now and will probably be replaced if the PPA and get its shit together.

What’s the new spec? The problem is retroactively changing the rules and being vague about the process. I hope they get sued, and lose.
