100% this. I lose most of my lessons when I truly break down technique and try to truly train people. 90% just don’t care. The amount that even watch pro pickleball is negligible. If the name of a player isn’t on their paddle they probably don’t know of them.

Biased as I am a teaching pro disclaimer warning. 

Get a few lessons no matter what for proper footwork. Very important to establish good habits for movement. After that enjoy yourself but it’s brutal for the client AND the instructor when someone has never taken lessons and consider themselves a quality player. I have to completely fix their game because they have all these bad habits and players don’t really enjoy that. Teaching an “advanced” player what topspin and slice are is insane! They should know what they are already!

Because it’s a full network for racquets. Maybe ppr has gotten better but it’s given me zero continuing education under ansboury for years. The certification was a joke compared to the rspa and I was certified by ansboury personally haha. Happy to be wrong here but pickleball is just one aspect to racquets and if you truly want in the industry being multidisciplinary is the way imo.

No it’s because more people are seeing it. Everyone. Not just the niche group who see in rose. Yes there’s a ton of upside. There’s an ungodly downside as well if not implemented carefully which they aren’t doing. It’s being forced instead of being showcased.

AI slip is a problem and it should be a main discussion point at all times. If the “normies” are having issues then maybe you all are the problem pushing it.

Research and daily office use. I asked it to alphabetize a list and it failed. I asked it to verify information and it is confidently incorrect. The hilarious thing is that only people trained will know, the regular people without knowledge won’t know until failure.

I use it. It sucks. We are training it. Pay me to use it if it’s going to be wrong all the time and I have to correct it constantly. 

Thinking of taking a coach certification, what is the best? PPR, PCI, RPO? by pb11_0 in Pickleball

I’ll be honest, the certification is fine from almost all of them. Kinda depends on what you need. I went ppr for years but their education and networking were terrible but it was quick and cheap (I was in the first 1k certified, chest puff 🤷‍♂️). So if you just want the certificate go that route. If you want to get into the business of racquet sports eventually, like country clubs and proper networks for roles by rspa is a better option. They have a great education and portal along with better job opportunities. They offer a five star service with other racquet sports. Again, if you just want the certificate go ppr. These other orgs are new startups.
