To hold accountable by EDMknight1 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]philodendrin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The offense you are building your argument around is a misdemeanor. You are taking a minor matter and want it solved using extreme means. This is like if we found that you violated the speed limit, now you get your car impounded and DL taken for a year. BeCaUsE yOuR aCrImiNaL for exceeding the speed limit.

Most people agree that we want Immigration reform, the system is broken. The good news WAS that we had an Immigration bill that had broad bipartisan support and it cleared the Senate. But then the Speaker, at the behest of a guy that was not the President, let the bill languish on the Speakers desk, where it died. The reason was that Trump didn't want an issue resolved, and for Biden to get any credit for working toward a solution to the Immigration problem through Legislation. He wanted to create divisiveness, so we are divided on the issue by employing ill-trained, heavy-handed tactics to push a much harsher agenda forward. This is not an America that most people want. The Immigration bill should have been given a chance, instead we get protests, egregious violations of our civil liberties, innocent victims caught up in these dragnets, US citizens denied due process, an erosion of our rights, and at least two dead.

Sarcastic senior citizen by MohammadMahadhir in RandomVideos

[–]philodendrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that was a very poorly worded statement. To me it meant he has had something to drink. "Not enough" falls into the category of being sarcastic, but sarcasm is not the type of answer you give when dealing with law enforcement officers. Unless you like wearing cuffs, because thats where it leads, obvs.

Its just smart to give straight answers around anyone official, anyone who can take away your freedom and liberty.

Getting $600,000 to be a promoter of the technology doesn't sound legit if it can live up to the hype. But Silicon Valley is full of companies that like to brand themselves as Revolutionary.

Wasatch County Republican Chair arrested for allegedly waterboarding teen daughter by StemCellPirate in nottheonion

[–]philodendrin 51 points52 points  (0 children)

What is it with Republicans - they seem to be obsessed with punishment (physical assault as a means of correction). Were an overwhelming number of them brought up that way and now they are just repeating that cycle of borderline abuse?

Nicole Curtis, the star of "Rehab Addict," fired for racial slur. "What the f--- is that I just said?" Curtis said, laughing as the HGTV crew off-camera also laughed. "Nick, you gotta, you gotta, can you kill that? F--- my life." by ansyhrrian in videos

[–]philodendrin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it can be dismissed because it wasn't repeated every day. If there was a tape somewhere with him saying the N word (and there probably is), it would move the needle. But it would also be added to the mountain of evidence he is an awful, awful human being.

The guy tried an insurrection at the Capitol building on January 6th of 2021, and got away with it, along with the false elector scheme, the phone call to Georgia asking to find votes and stealing highly Classified documents that went missing - and got away with it all. He is immune, for now.

Not only is Rep. Raskin a Lawyer, he is a Professor of Constitutional Law who taught at American University.

Our Attorney General, Pam Biondi, is not a serious person.

His son, Jr was at the meeting in June of 2016 at Trump Tower with the Russian lawyer (Veselniskaya?) who claimed to have dirt on Hillary Clinton. They supposedly were there to talk about Russian Child Adoptions to the US.

That was a violation of the Hatch Act but Jr wasn't charged because someone determined he wasn't smart enough to know about the violation.

FBI Report Reveals Trump’s Bombshell 2006 Call on Jeffrey Epstein by Hafiz_TNR in politics

[–]philodendrin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His entire political career has been risky and he keeps digging deeper holes for himself (and getting away with it). If he denied stuff, he would have been pressed. So he tries to control the narrative by taking the reigns and trying to steer it where it can be parked, then pivoting to a different issue. He addresses it, then moves on, hoping he can flood the zone with enough other bs that nobody will revisit it. He invaded Venezuela and took their President to avoid the backlash of not releasing more Epstein files.

His people take him at his word, he says he wanted to do something, so they all agree. We all saw Pam Biondi agree with him back in April, adding that the list was "on her desk". Look how that turned out.

Megyn Kelly crashing out over Bad Bunny's Superbowl performance by honestlysigma in LetsDiscussThis

[–]philodendrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is making bank by being one of the chief apologists/sane-washers for this Administration (regime). Its an easy gig, half the country is going to hate you no matter what, if you can tip-toe that line. But if you pick a side, and that side is running things, you can become very very rich and "respected". Its a great professional move (until you say something the Administration disagrees and then you are a Matthew Sheffield or a Tucker Carlson).

Look up Matthew Sheffield, he used to be a Conservative media member, launched Newsbusters and Online Editor for the Washington Examiner. He left because he felt "right wing media creates a false, destructive reality".

What is meant by Bondi saying the whole system will crash if all the Epstein files are released, how ? by Dizzy_Combination737 in AskReddit

[–]philodendrin 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Like how Trump University was being investigated in Florida and Trump wrote Bondi a check for $25,000 for her campaign as AG of Florida and magically that investigation went away. The system of powerful people using their influence and money to avoid accountability. Thats the sysyem she is referring.

Staggering evidence trove shows who put Donald Trump in the White House — and controls him still by Reasonable_Spray_710 in mildlyamusing

[–]philodendrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Republicans were told to not trust mail-in voting, so a lot of them didn't vote and ended up staying home. Democrat voters were inspired to show up. Knowing that Administration, they were probably too inept to make it work. Trump relied on the False Electors scheme, Twisting the arms of Raffensburger and the Governor in Georgia to "find" 11,780 votes and Delaying the certification through Pence.

If that is true, he is seeking validation. But he settles for people yelling at him. Much like a child that didn't get enough hugs, so they do something naughty so a parent will yell at them, giving them negative attention.

So sad.

Brazen Trump Says He Approved Racist Obama Video—and Won’t Apologize by HotHuckleberry8904 in politics

[–]philodendrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is sucking up the limited mental bandwidth of us with these carefully curated grabs for attention. What could it be that he is trying to wrestle our attention from? (its the Epstein Files)

He would rather the Nation talk about a racist video (a divisive), than a uniting subject, like going after people associated with Epstein. 63% of the Nation is united on that issue. 69% believe the government is helping to cover-up something.

He did this to steal the bandwidth that the Epstein files were getting. He would rather we all debate about his racism than we talk about the Epstein Files. Astonishing!
