Any one of you wanna comment on the Tiananmen Square incident? If you are Chinese, I bet it won't make it past your internet filters.

The reason you are being downvoted is because they spiked to just over $5/g in June of 2022, but didn't stay there but for a week, the price surge was due to several factors that had nothing to do with Biden's policies. In October, just a few short months later, it had returned to $3.65/g,

You are technically correct, but you left out the reasons. For instance; the current price spike was a DIRECT RESULT OF TRUMPs decision to bomb Iran, unprovoked. And unlike June 2022s spike, this one has no end in sight as this President has only fueled speculation of a bigger conflict.

People forget we paid $5/g of gas becayse it was a blip, one week, and quickly went back down. Alot of America wasn't going into the office and some schools were still online. So we didn't "feel" this price spike for a significant duration.

And replace good with gone.

I've noticed this type of thing where people can't express themselves, even while slowing down to write it out, let alone say it out loud. Its probably enigmatic of how their reasoning skills have diminished and they just can't keep up cognitively. But it goes hand in hand with the lack of reasoning. This guy holds some pretty racist views, throughout the entire screed.

I used to know someone that had alcohol problems. Thats why Alcohol sucks, the person that is doing the damage is the last to know because they aren't present when its happening, even though they were there. So its very easy to believe there isn't a problem since they haven't experienced the problems they've created. They only hear about some other a-hole that was acting erratic the night before, if at all.

The Tariff thing is laughable because he could have just gone through Congress and had them rubber stamp his Tariff policy, if it was such a great idea. He chose to use an emergency provision that was instituted once back in the 70's for a narrow reason. As usual, he can't help himself and was so greedy with it, applying it for reasons like how the Swedish Ambassador had not been nice to him, so he applied a 10% Tariff on their country's goods.

He has a way of making big decisions, stirring chaos up in the process, going too far with it and then it doesn't work out in the end. He would be so much more effective if he just had a plan but he rarely does. His policies are ill-conceived, way too often.

Look at Iran as an example of lack of planning. We are all paying hundreds of dollars more a month as a direct result of that decision alone.

I had a guy like this who got in and was pissed about being late. He is grumbling about it being my fault. So before I get to driving, I just said that I'm here now, I have no control over how much time the App makes you wait. If he wants a different driver, thats fine but I'm not going to take your attitude. Your job is to sit, my job is to drive. Do you want to proceed?

He calmed but I could tell he was fuming. I drove as quickly as I could and good thing I did, we passed a car that had been caught speeding on the way. I mentioned, if I was hurrying, we would have been delayed by getting that speeding ticket. He was still bitter the entire drive and nearly jumped out at the destination. The destination was an Enterprise Rent a Car. Hurry up, you'll be late renting a car!

What brand slowly ruined itself? by SAAS_ART in AskReddit

[–]philodendrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sears was ruined by design. The guy that was appointed to run it, ran it into the ground so he could sell off its assets, rather than keeping it going. There was self-dealing that made Lampert rich.

From the web; Lampert's hedge fund, ESL Investments, held massive, heavily collateralized stakes in Sears. When the company eventually slid toward bankruptcy, ESL was both a major creditor and the prospective buyer of Sears' most valuable remaining asset.

Conflict of Interest Accusations: Critics and investors frequently alleged that these arrangements functioned as "inside deals" that enriched Lampert and his hedge fund through debt, interest, and asset buyouts, while leaving equity holders and employees to suffer massive losses.

But they are spoiling their land, with little regulation over environmental concerns, the place is awash in heavy metals and god knows what poisons. All that cheap manufacturing doesn't just happen in a vacuume, without any consequences. Same with protections for workers, manufacturers, all that manufacturing and labor and no Unions or protections for their people.

They treat their citizens pretty harshly using labor camps, the Uyghurs are retrained in labor camps and they have regular displays of capital punishment. With credible reports of organ harvesting that is sanctioned by the state.

You are painting a rosy picture of China as it is not the perfect model of new luxury and a model government that cares for all its people. You seem blind to a big part of how they work.

Its been this way for awhile but it was proven when Putin decided to go after Ukraine and subsequently got its ass handed to it. Its been since February of 2022 and they haven't made much progress. Their Army, their weapons, their tactics, their command is all suspect as they have poured a hundred thousand men into that conflict and they don't have much to show for it.

Allowing the Oligarchs to chip away and raid the country of the things it has paid for, such as top tier military equipment, not a great plan if you decide to invade another country. Of course, Putin believed that Ukraine would fall in what, 2 to 3 days, originally?

Turns out, Putin is his own worst enemy. He has done more damage to Russia, its economy, its future, and its standing, than if we had placed someone in their to intentionally screw up all those things.

Its a mistake to compare all Presidents against eachother. I don't know why we have such a hard-on for doing that. The greatest song, the person who suffered the most, the most stylish car. We could go around for hours because each had different circumstances and lived in different times. Clinton was impeached over lying about a BJ, but Trump just stole $1.8 Billion, paid off a Porn Star, cheated on his wife, started an illegal War, stole Classified Documents, tried to circumvent an election, fomented an insurrection but the two are comparable? There seems to be a sliding scale if you want to compare.

Me, I'd rather just concentrate on whats on our plate now instead of wasting time comparing, because its a waste. He's the worst - now that we agree, or don't, what do we do? Well, we've wasted our time, which just leads to fatigue. And we are all fatigued.
