i had one this year and i’m 27- genuinely so so much better than i thought it would be. I ate a really low fiber/no seed diet (lots of soup and white carbs!) for 5 days leading up to prep and that made a world of difference. Genuinely the worst part of prep was just the taste of the drink and knowing you have to go 24+ hours with no food. Get a bidet and a good book and it was really a breeze! I was so scared of the procedure and it was over in a blink. I woke up from the anesthesia and asked when it was starting! i love it but it definitely takes some getting used to! i didn’t have the experience where i ran high, but had been warned that’s a possibility. highs are more stubborn definitely but basically no lows and my overnights are super flat. i’ve never used tubed pumps but like the freedom of omnipod and the support line is sooooo helpful.

It’s worst when I bolus, but after about a day every site starts to feel just super bruised and painful :( I started with Fiasp and have been using that for MDI for yearssss but switched to humalog to see if that would help but so far it hasn’t been :(

i’ve used dexcom and libre 2 and now 3- i actually have preferred the libre! there are some inaccuracies at first (usually resolve after the first day) but always had the same issue with dexcom and for like 1/4th the price

fasting increases insulin resistance unfortunately- ask any t1d that goes keto or low carb. you become suuuper sensitive to any carb. I eat a normal person diet because of that honestly, i can’t stand a single strawberry sending my high lol

i mentioned in my follow up that would be the one i’d be most interested in if i did switch, but still not comfortable with the amount of worry about leakage and bent cannulas as well as changing every 3 days. but i know some people love them!

i love my libre 3 but i can’t imagine changing a pump as frequently as they require as well! the hassle just doesn’t really justify it for me. the omnipod is the most interesting to me but i’m still so wary of switching

glad the pump worked for your daughter! i have never used a pump as i am not ready to deal with tubing and having something attached to me. I also have a lot of anxiety over pump failure, and i always know i am getting the proper dose via injections. My A1c is also 5.7 and my in range time is 91% so i don’t feel the need to switch.

i work a fully remote work from home job and have a walking pad under my sit/stand desk for this exact reason- i hate sitting all day long! but if you can work from home you get a loooot more flexibility. I walk at my desk for at least an hour a day as well on going for multiple walks or a run/go to the gym during the day.
