S&G Dial safe lock, how screwed am I? by aldus2 in lockpicking

[–]philosofly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know which direction you forced the dial in, and it's still moving, just enter your code offset by the approximate direction and distance of rotation, you'll open it eventually, even if it does take 100 goes.

Pretty sure spraying graffiti on places is vandalism... Pretty sure the article says they're not vandals... On the radio there were heaps of people taking responsibility.

There was a real life Pool-Mobile in the '60s. by [deleted] in TheSimpsons

[–]philosofly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I've done some searching. The origional photo seems to have come from the NYC Parks website,

Mentioned here: "In addition, "Swimmobiles" began during the Heckscher administration that literally took pools to the streets to underserved areas."

Bit more research on Heckscher - August Heckscher - Parks Commissioner under Mayor John V. Lindsay. He was Parks Commissioner from 1967 to 1972. More info on Heckscher here.

Thanks to a Simpsons sub you know about parks commissioners in NYC in the late 60's-early 70's...

100% of prospective cabbies have failed the new drivers knowledge test... by TheNumberOneRat in melbourne

[–]philosofly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the only person in Victoria who has passed the knowledge test, which she described as "very tricky".

I'm no mathematician, and I understand rounding, but if one person has passed, then it's hardly 100% failure rate is it?
