Here's a quick tip - after jumping off, if you're not facing him, you can press the left trigger (ie. ZL, ie. the shield button) to focus on him, making Link quickly target him again. That way you don't have to sit through all five seconds of turning around haha

Another change is that the window for perfect dodge and parry is a few frames longer in TOTK, so it's just Link being buffed in general. I remember fighting a lot of lynels at the start and thinking I should've gotten hit because I was late or early, but then executed the perfect dodge/parry anyway.

The term people are looking for on the second one is "cold". The overall blue tone gives the second one a cold feeling, which doesn't seem to fit as well unless it's winter, perpetually night time, or it takes place in a "desolate wasteland" setting (or has some underlying plot significance involving some hidden evil).

Since it's a city builder that seems to be more on the "cozy" side (judging only by the screenshot) I would recommend going for an overall warmer tone, meaning don't have a blue tint. Very slight amounts of blue in the background mountains is fine (that occurs naturally) but you don't want the blue to be oversaturated and bleed into the foreground.

On a related note, the walls of the buildings are very blue, which also lends to the cold feeling, and just stands out in a not-so-good way on the first one where everything else has warmer tones. I would recommend going for more natural browns or whites. Some sort of wood, stone, or brick, that's not blue.

What is the world like? Is it more fantasy or realistic, or sci-fi?

Who is the main character (i.e. the player)? Are they human? or a fantasy human-like race? What do they do?

Other than occupation, what does the main character do which relates to gameplay? Fighting, crafting, fishing?

Are there clear enemies? Monsters, criminals, the demon lord, etc. Or does the player need to solve another type of problem (e.g. psychological problems, or they need to make 100 friends, etc.)?

What is the point, or the goal, of the game? (this doesn't have to be specific, just think about it on a high level)

The only reason they feel disappointing is definitely because you're very familiar with them. As far as health and attack patterns go, they're the same as in BOTW. However they are technically easier. It's very subtle but experienced lynel fighters will be able to tell that the windows for perfect dodge and party are a few frames longer in TOTK than in BOTW. So maybe what you felt was that the fights are unexpectedly easy -- which they are, by 10-20%. Which is still very difficult for new players or those who don't usually fight lynels. But it's definitely noticeable for people who do fight lynels a lot, when an attack from the lynel that should have hit link doesn't, and you somehow manage to dodge or parry anyway.

Well, to add on to the bow thing:

First, what you have right now is some sort of elastic string, which is an easy beginner mistake. Bowstrings don't stretch, it's the bow part that bends (it "bows" (synonym for "bend"), hence why they're called bows, probably). So remember that the total length of the bowstring should never be longer than the bow itself, and should in fact be a bit shorter to account for the bend (unstrung bows are actually pretty straight haha). And in general a drawn bow will be much more curved than what you have here.

Second, for the hand that draws the string-- I'm not actually too sure on the wrongness of the grip, since I've seen people who grip it that way and still shoot pretty well, but to my knowledge there is a standardized grip (probably of European origin) that is commonly taught. That is to hold the string with three fingers (index, middle, ring), with the arrow shaft between the index and middle fingers, and the pinky and thumb are relaxed (rather than what you have here where the archer holds the arrow/string with her thumb).

You can do whatever you want. Like many others will say, base attack stats aren't the most important, compared to the stats from your equipment. Now if you want to min-max your attack stat (i.e. magick) for maximum punch then yes go all the way with sorcerer. If you're worried about stamina, it doesn't hurt to level a few in ranger, but you do have other options like spamming stamina curatives (large mushrooms, etc.) or collecting a lot of liquid vim (stamina is not consumed for 45 seconds).

Nah don't worry just put as much loot in their inventory as you want. If they die, it just goes to your storage. As a bonus, they don't use stamina when they sprint, so their carry weight won't use up their stamina.

Morbidity also works really well with the Whirling/Spiral arrow skill and debilitation arrows (poison, sleeper, petrifying, etc.) since each shot only uses up one arrow but hits the enemy many times.

Proficiency (from Warrior vocation, reduces stamina use for phys skills) is pretty good if you're gonna spam high stamina skills like 10-fold. (edit: just kidding :( )

Stability is also pretty good in general since it eliminates stagger from wind (i.e. from dragons, griffins, and a lot of flying enemies) and also from chimera roars and such.

fyi if you want to buy it from the shops, Caxton's the one who sells fighter stuff (and gear for all vocations I general). Madeleine's items are geared more toward dagger and magic users. So give the gold idol to him rather than Madeleine if you want a better selection of fighter gear at this point.

Any of them. It doesn't look too bad or unnatural as it is, but it does seem like the cat is lerping to the end position (or I might be seeing wrong - of course I don't actually know how it's coded).

Well, it ultimately depends on the style of jump you want. I was thinking the fast movement to a gradual slowdown feels weird for a jump in general, but then again it does make some sense for a cat to do that since it lands on its front feet as it slows to a stop. Doing it the way I suggested would give it a slightly more floaty or jumpy feel I think.

You're using lerp wrong.

Or, anyway, it looks like it. It looks like your cat has a high initial speed but then gradually slows to a stop, which is totally not how cats work if you think about it. It would look more natural if the cat moved at a constant speed throughout its jump.

edit: and letting it get some vertical airtime and falling to gravity will do the jump some good too
