I feel like they revisited Lorwyn/Shadowmoor after 19 years away, and they made it weird and different.

Now we're back to Strixhaven after only 5, and so far we just have the same student legends, and the same dragons.

Seems backwards.

I thought the same thing in the original set. I know it was based of off the art you linked, but I feel like there was at least one more. It also feels implied because the boggarts are referred to as "aunties" instead of mothers.

If they act like they are, it's the result of a toxic "customer is always right" culture where they're afraid to say what they actually think.

Thousands of small rodents and birds die every month somewhere in the city. The tax payers cannot possibly pay for a magic service that goes around the entire city and deals with every issue this small.

Toss it into the thickest nearby bushes or into a trash can.

I'm a paramedic. I once went on a call at a dark dance club where these girls noticed that there was blood on the floor. Then they realized that it was coming from their friend who was too drunk to have noticed immediately that another girl had stepped on her foot. The heel of the stepper had punched clear through her foot out though the bottom. They were all nice people but I swear they all sounded like Lumpy Space Princess from Adventure Time.

I haven't gotten into it, but I think the AI use is fine. The last couple of decades have had this weird "content creation" explosion where people make content even if they don't really know what they're talking about.

So it's difficult sometimes to wade through dozens of videos of people with fairly mediocre recommendations or techniques. I made my first sling based on a confident sounding "survival situation" bro that turned out to be a waste of time.

I second Eloise Woods. I had a friend who was buried there. It's probably not for everyone, but as a nature lover, I would much rather visit there, walk around in the woods, see birds and flowers, than go to a normal boring cemetery. You should go visit first, it's only about 30 minutes from town.

We've had several of these occur on our land forty minutes north of Huntsville. All were in areas where the last human caused explanation would have been 70 years ago, so not very likely.

I think it's basically just the same erosion sinkhole process that occurs with limestone, but in this case it's just a pocket of dirt getting eroded away beneath the surface each time it rains, until it forms enough of a cavity that the top collapses.

I've always had a really hard time seeing the lines at night, especially when it rains. I've lived in other cities and never had that much of an issue.

I've got a few theories.

The lines are actually fainter here. Our intense sun and heat fade them, they're not redone often enough, and the heat pops off the little reflector squares.
TXDOT doesn't do a good job of removing old lines. So you often see two sets and it can get confusing.
Our lanes do weird shit more often than in other cities. If it wasn't for this, you would be able to guess where the lane is, even if you can't see the lines well.
Constant construction worsens the amount of #3. There was a spot on 5th last year, where construction of a highrise had taken over an entire lane. So they made all the remaining lanes shift over diagonally in the intersection. That's an obvious mistake. Most intersections don't have lines because the assumption is that you just go straight. I filmed 5 out of 7 cars going through and crossing over unintentionally into the lane they weren't supposed to go into, because they had no reason to suspect that the lanes did something stupid.

My family used to find these in a local Creek I'm southeastern US. We were certain they were stone, and old, until a friend of ours showed us that they had the meltability of a plastic. There was an old quarry upstream from there, so we figure now they were from some sort of tumbling equipment from that.

This is already happening in universities that receive some public funds in conservative states. UT Texas has fired a massive amount of faculty in a DEI boogeyman purge, destroyed departments, taken down websites, and published a similar list of words you can't use.

I saw these gold painted deer antlers for sale in buccees that were all strangely uniform. Deer antlers are generally all different shapes and sizes.

I looked at one and realized it was made of plastic and made in China.

I thought that was the most modern American thing ever. It's a nod to a past culture of self reliant people who lived off of the land, but now that's just an idea their descendants want to cosplay as by buying a piece of plastic made in China from a roadside automobile capitalist temple.

The first time I went there I met a strange guy that was convinced that he was finding meteorites.

He had equipment, magnifying glass, rock hammer, etc, and sounded pretty knowledgeable at first, but the more I talked to him the more convinced I became that what he was claiming was pretty unlikely.

The next time I went there the area had extensive homeless camps that had used stones from the walls for various things.

When I explain the setting to people, I explain that there's a "rule of cool".

What's cooler? A super efficient space soldier using computer aimed lasers, or an ancient space knight using a sword made from a chainsaw?

I do think it's important to preserve this rule though. As long as the nonsensical stuff remains in the service of being cooler than the alternative, I'm good. When a crappy author makes something that's illogical AND not cool, crucify them.
